Translucent Floral Nested Die Flap Fold

This is another version of Patty Bennett's Translucent Floral cards, only this Nested Essentials Dies piece, creates a flap closure (which I have done before, only it opened on the side instead of the top!) Also, instead of a stamped image, I fussy cut smaller floral images from the DSP!  Fun, gorgeous card!

Measurements:

  • Fresh Freesia: 1/2 sheet, 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" (label)
  • Delightful Florals (OE)(N): 3" x 5 1/4" (small floral), 1 1/4" x 5 1/4" (Freesia watercolor), scraps (small floral)
  • Basic White: 1/4 sheet, 2" x 4 1/4"
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Fresh Freesia base in half.  Crease well. Then, trim away 1" from front flap. You can toss this piece.
  • Attach Floral DSP piece to front flap.
  • Die cut larger (not largest) Nested Essentials Die shown from Fresh Freesia. Cut a smaller one from White..
  • Score the top side of the Fresh Freesia die approx 1/2"-5/8" from the end.  Crease well.
  • Attach the White layer and trim right side even with score line on the Fresh Freesia piece.
  • Lay the White, inside piece inside of the card. DO NOT attach, yet. This is a FULL quarter piece, as the "flap" needs to be able to easily go over the front flap!
  • Center the "labels" on the front of the card.
  • Now, place Tear Tape on the "wrong" side of the scored flap of the labels, and attach to the wrong side of the inside, White piece.
  • Then, attach this piece to the inside of the card, and you're almost done!
  • Select a couple of small flowers from the DSP and fussy cut them out.
  • Attach one on top, as shown, stamp your chosen sentiment in Fresh Freesia, and then add your other flower.  (You might want to plan a bit, first!)
  • Oh, add the 1 1/4" of DSP to the inside, right side of the card.  Either use another print, or the more watercolor side.
  • Finish with scattered Tinsel Gems 3.
  • I adhered mine with a clear velcro dot.
