I haven't done one of these layouts in ages! I saw a version of this sample using the Rustic Crate and knew I had to give it a try. I ended up making this one for my sister for her birthday! She loved it! I framed the crate focal point with scrap strips of the awesome All About Autumn DSP! I love how it turned out!
Measurements: :
- Mossy Meadow: 1/2 sheet, scrap
- Crushed Curry: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Pecan Pie (N): 1 1/2" strip (crate)
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scraps
- All About Autumn DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 7/8" x 2 7/8"; 2 pcs @ 7/8" x 4"
To Make this Card:
- Attach Crushed Curry layer to folded Mossy Meadow card
- Starting in upper left corner, attach shorter piece of Autumn, then work around the corners alternating short and long DSP pieces.
- To create the "crate". Die cut the 2 pieces of the "crate" from Pecan Pie.
- Fold "flaps" for the "back" piece to the INSIDE of the "crate". Place 1/8" Tear n Tape on the longer edges (if you don't have 1/8" Tear n Tape trim the 1/4" tape down), and Glue Dots on the smaller pieces.
- To bring out the wood grain of the front of the crate, burnish Early Espresso ink onto front with small Blending Brush.
- Now, you can add the front of the "crate" to the adhesive on the back, making a cute, 3D "crate". Set this aside.
- Next, stamp the "fall" image in Memento Ink onto a scrap of White. Color with Blends as desired, and then die cut with corresponding die.
- Assemble the crate and adhere to the center of the card front.
- Lastly, stamp your sentiment in Pecan Pie ink. Fussy cut around it and mount onto small rectangle of Mossy Meadow.
- Oh, I also added a White piece to the inside, along with a scrap strip of Autumn DSP.
