Changing Leaves Textured Diagonal Card

I love this hybrid bundle with the Changing Leaves! I spotted this card created by LeeAnn Greff with the neat technique of highlighting the embossed image!  My girls wanted to learn how to do this, and we will!  At class, next week! Both the embossed images on the diagonal layer, and the die cut image are highlighted with ink!  Really easy to do, with a really neat technique!

Measurements:

  • Garden Green: 1/2 sheet, scrap
  • Basic Beige (N): 4" x 5 1/4", 3" square, scrap
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • To Market DSP (N): 1/2" x 7" (front), 1/2" x 4" inside
To Make This Card:
  • Cut Basic Beige layer in half on the diagonal. (save the other half for another card).
  • Emboss with Changing Leaves Embossing Folder.
  • Lightly burnish Garden Green ink over the leaves with a Blending Brush.
  • Adhere longer strip of DSP along the longest edge. Add to the folded Garden Green card, keeping edges flush.  Trim off excess.
  • Next, ink the "label side" of the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder with Garden Green ink and a Blending Brush (or Sponge Dauber). Note: originally, I inked the entire folder, but I've decided I only used one leaf, so in the future, I will just ink up the one leaf I want to use.
  • Add the leaves die onto this same (label) side, and then the Beige card stock onto the top of it all, over the leaf you want to cut out.  Run through your die cut machine with correct "sandwich" and hinge end first.
  • Die cut double leaf from Garden Green scrap. Cut apart.
  • Stamp sentiment in Garden Green, and die cut with desired label die. Adhere to front of card.
  • Group chosen embossed leaf and 2 die cut leaves together.  Attach to card with Dimensional.
  • Tie a double bow with Linen Thread.  Adhere to cluster.
  • Place Vanilla (or Basic Beige) piece inside, along with strip of DSP.
  • Finish with scattered Beige Speckled Dots (ret)
