Charming Day Modified Gate Fold

Time to play with this gorgeous bundle - Charming Day. Gorgeous stamps, gorgeous dies, and beautiful DSP and accessories!  I found this interesting idea that utilizes a Gate Fold base, but with another set of panels on top. Very pretty! Don't you just love the colors in the DSP!!  So, we will be making this card in class this week!

Measurements:

  • Blackberry Bliss: 1/2 sheet
  • Berry Burst: 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Floral Charm DSP (N): 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" (Berry Floral), 2 pcs @ 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" (Blackberry Print)
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), 3 1/2" square (die cut circle)
  • Pecan Pie: scrap
  • Fresh Freesia: scrap
To Make This Card:
  • Score the Blackberry Bliss base @ 2 1/8" from each end, creating a "Gate Fold".  Crease well. (I switched the base color from Vanilla (see above photos) to Blackberry Bliss, because I didn't like the look of the Vanilla edges under the dark Blackberry Bliss layers.)
  • Adhere large Very Vanilla piece to the inside.
  • Adhere the 2 Blackberry Print DSP pieces to the front "gates".
  • Adhere the Berry Floral to the Berry Burst layer, then adhere to "left" gate of card front.
  • Stamp the sentiment in Berry Burst ink, near bottom of Vanilla square. Then, die cut "fancy" circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies, so the sentiment is near the bottom as far as possible.
  • Die cut the "stem & leaves" from the single flower in Pecan Pie, and the single "rose" that's on that die, from Fresh Freesia.
  • Adhere the "stem" so that it lies between the "happy" and "birthday".
  • Add some Berry Burst ink to the details of the "rose", and adhere it over the "stem". (be sure to trim off the "calyx" first.)
  • Now, you can add the circle to the front of card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish the outside with a little Wink of Stella on the "rose", a Linen Thread bow to the "stem", and scattered, new Charming Simmer Dots.
  • Finish the inside with a sentiment and single rose stamped on the inside in Berry Burst ink.
