Double Vision Lilly of the Valley

I'm loving this technique! So many possibilities.  Of course, right now I'm lovin' the Valley in Bloom DSP, so I had to give it a try with that!  I've been using the corners and borders a lot more than usual with this DSP! And, this is just another way to use it! This particular idea comes from Susan Campfield.  It also uses her million dollar stamp set - Phrases and Frames - and the new, awesome "Impressions Mat"! Be sure to check out these frames!  They are gorgeous!

Measurements:

  • Pretty Peacock: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (one for inside), scrap (sentiment)
  • Valley in Bloom DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (corner image), 1/2" x 4" strip (inside)
To Make This Card:
  • Take this DSP piece and cut it into 8 - 1/2" strips. Make sure as you cut you keep them in order!
  • Begin with the farthest LEFT piece and adhere it directly to the White "mounting" piece.
  • Then, LAY the next into place, for spacing, and adhere the next, third, piece.
  • Continue with "placeholder" and adhered piece until 4 pieces are on your card base.
  • Now, for the OTHER 4 pieces.  These will be popped up! For this version, I decided to try Foam Adhesive Strips, which are also a little taller! It was suggested to use the outside edges of your Dimensionals, which I did for my first one.  I think I prefer the "lower" look.
  • Before you line these up and pop them into place, it was suggested to put Multipurpose Glue on top of the adhesive of the Dimensionals to help you slide them into place without them grabbing so fast!  Isn't that neat!
  • I started from the LEFT, again, lined up the pattern, and adhered them into place!
  • Sit back and admire the effect!
  • Now, you can adhere this piece to the folded Pretty Peacock card base.
  • For the sentiment, I used the Phrases and Frames Dies (they are gorgeous),  You cut the die shape first, and then run it through, again, with the Impressions Mat. And, then lastly, stamp the sentiment in Pretty Peacock. (I also just found out, that if you feel like you need a layer, the old Oval Scallop Punch works great!)
  • Finish the inside with a sentiment stamped in Pretty Peacock, and a strip of DSP.
  • Finish the outside with a bow of White Baker's Twine, and scattered Shimmering Dots.
