Double Step Filled with Sweetness

This cute Double Step card was designed by Cindy Brumbaugh. It's such a clean & simple card that really is so easy to create, and of course, uses my favorite paper! It DOES fold flat for sending! (You can push the steps either way!

Measurements:

  • Misty Moonlight: 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", 2 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • Homemade Sweetness DSP (N)(OE): 2 3/4" x 4", 1 1/8" x 3 3/4" (back) (small jars print); 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" (blue check); 2 die cut jars
  • Basic White: 4" x 4 1/4" (back), 1 1/4" x 1 5/8" (front sentiment)
To Make This Card:

  • Score Misty Moonlight base @ 1/2" - 1 1/2" - 3" - 4". Crease well making "mountain" folds. This is so cool.  It will fold up and around making the lower step! Give it try so you know how it goes!
  • Place Tear & Tape along the 1/2"area. (You'll be able to see which side as you practiced rolling it into place!).
  • Lay base flat, creasing at the 3rd score line, and tucking the 1/2" piece under.  Adhere Tear & Tape. Make sure you have a low step, and then adhere well!
  • Next, attach the larger, small jar print to the flat back.
  • Now for the "taller" step. Score @ 1/2" - 1 1/2". Crease well making "mountain" folds.
  • Place Tear & Tape on the 1/2" area and on the bottom of this piece, but on the other side.
  • Remove the backing of the Tear & Tape on the bottom of this piece.  Adhere to card base by lining up the bottom of this piece to the bottom (3rd score line) of the card base, and the outside of the card. See above.
  • Then, lay the card flat , as if you were putting it in the envelope, remove the backing on the 1/2" area, and attach the top of this step to the back of the card.  It's done! Isn't it cute!
  • To, finish the bases, adhere blue check to the "taller" step. Then, attach 2 "fussy cut" larger jars of your choice.
  • The sentiment, first make sure you have the White piece going the right direction. Then, I stamped the sentiment from the Sweet Jars in Misty Moonlight and Strawberry Slush ink. Adhere to the "shorter" step.
  • For the back (where you can write your message), adhere the White piece, along with a strip of DSP. If desired, add a "fussy cut" die cut embellishment.
  • Finish the card with a bow of Misty Moonlight check ribbon, and scattered Flat Pearls.

Homemade Sweetness Barn Door Fold

I just love the images in the Homemade Sweetness DSP, and I'm always on the lookout for fun, easy folds for my Senior Center stampers, and found this one! Originally, I was going to do this for my smaller stamping class - so would only have to fussy cut a few of the jam jars, but plans changed, and I ended up teaching my LARGER class - which meant 30 large and 20 small fussy cut images. My aunt to the rescue!!  She offered to cut out all those jars for me!!  And, they loved the card!

Measurements:

  • Misty Moonlight: 1/2 sheet cut lengthwise
  • Basic White:2 1/8" x 2 3/4" (label), 1 1/4" x 4 1/4" (extra layer on the front),4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
  • Homemade Sweetness DSP (N)(OE): 2" x 5 1/4" (blue check), 3 "large" jam jars, 2 "small" jam jars
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Misty Moonlight card base in half. Then, remove top "half" by cutting 2" from the top edge to the crease in the card.  You will not be needing this piece.
  • Adhere White layer to inside of card.
  • Attach strip of DSP to front "flap".
  • Die cut "lid" from Filled with Sweetness dies, as well as one of the "labels".
  • Fussy cut 3 "large" jam jars, including the "honey" bottle from the DSP.  Also, select 2 smaller jam jars from the other sheet.
  • Begin creating the front by attaching the "jar lid" to the front flap.
  • Then, add the "honey" bottle to the front, and 2 "taller" jars on either side.
  • Adhere a 4 3/4" strip of Misty Moonlight Checkered ribbon across the "jar lid".
  • Stamp sentiment of your choice in Misty Moonlight ink. Then, add to card over ribbon, "jar lid" and die cut jars, as shown, with Dimensionals.
  • Finish inside with stamped sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink - low enough not to be seen above cut of front flap. Then, add the 2 smaller "jars".
  • Finish the front with 3 little Strawberries and a couple Misty Moonlight dots from the Strawberries & Dots embellishments

Vellum Sweetness Jar

I was looking for a unique way to use the awesome jar in the Filled with Sweetness bundle, and came across this idea by Loni Spendlove. The jar is made from vellum with an insert of Homemade Sweetness DSP! There is even a die to create the "slit" for the insert!!

Measurements:

  • Vellum: 5" x 7"
  • Homemade Sweetness DSP (N)(OE): 2 7/8" x 7 1/2" (insert), 1 5/8" x 4 3/4" (topper)
  • Strawberry Slush: scraps
  • Basic White: 2 5/8" x 3 1/2" (inside), scrap
To Make This Card:
  • Ink up "jar" with StazOn (dries best on vellum) and stamp on left side of vellum piece.
  • Blot, let dry a minute, and die cut with corresponding die.
  • Then, cut slit with die.
  • Place narrow Tear & Tape along bottom and left side to seal edges. Then, place Multipurpose Glue onto "inside" jar to keep it out of the way.
  • Fold DSP insert in half.
  • Stamp "flourish" in Strawberry Slush ink onto White insert. Then, attach to inside.
  • Die cut "topper" from DSP. Also, die cut "details" from cardstock.
  • Adhere the "details" to the "topper" with Multipurpose Glue.
  • Then, adhere near the fold of the "insert".
  • Stamp sentiment in Blueberry Bushel onto scrap of White and die cut with label from die set.
  • Add to "topper" and then add "bow".
  • Finish with embellishments from the Strawberries and Dots. Then, slip through slit and into "jar".

Modified Twisted Easel Book Binder Card

I found this interesting fold using the Homemade Sweetness DSP, but with no directions to be found. It appears to be a Book Binding fold, with a Twisted Easel fold - only the "binding" is not adhered (not sure why, but I did it the way I saw it.). The front is decorated with images fussy cut from the Homemade Sweetness DSP in the Online Store. It's a really pretty card, regardless of how you design it!

Measurements:

  • Secret Sea: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Granny Apple Green: 4 1/4" square
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scrap
  • Homemade Sweetness DSP (N)(OE): 4" square (notebook), 1" x 4" (Misty Moonlight floral), fussy cut jars
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Secret Sea base in half.  Score @ 4 1/4". Then, score diagonally from this score line bottom to the top of the upper, outside corner. Crease this diagonal score in a mountain fold.
  • Adhere 1" strip of DSP to "binding" area.
  • Adhere "notebook" DSP to front of Granny Apple Green layer.  Place adhesive on lower "triangle" of card front, then adhere the Granny Apple Green layer to that.
  • Next, fussy cut 4 "jars" and a "peach" from DSP.
  • Arrange and adhere to front of card.
  • Stamp sentiment in Secret Sea ink and then die cut with "label" from Filled with Sweetness Dies.  Adhere to front of card, as shown.
  • Finish front with Misty Moonlight Checkered Trim bow and scattered Secret Sea Moody Palette Glossy Dots.
  • Finish inside with White layer, small fussy cut die cut and sentiment stamped in Secret Sea ink.
