Shaded Seahorse

This unique sample removes the seahorse from the paper, softly colors it with Blending Brushes and that places it back in the opening. Again, I love the use of the Gold Foil with the gorgeous Expressions in Ink DSP!  This is gorgeous IRL!

Measurements:   

  • Just Jade: 1/2 sheet 
  • Expressions in Ink (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Gold Foil: 2 5/8" x 4 3/8"
  • Basic White: 2 1/2" x 4 1/4"
To Make This Card:

    • Fold  Just Jade card in half. Attach DSP to card front.
    • Cut "seahorse" from center of White cardstock. Use paper snips to release from White cardstock.  Set this piece aside.
    • Ink up one Blending Brush with Just Jade.  Lightly shade the left side of the "seahorse", darkening the outer edges.  Ink up another Blending Brush with Calypso Coral.  Lightly shade the "seahorse" belly.
    • Attach White base with the seahorse opening onto piece of gold. 
    • Now, reinsert and adhere the seahorse into the opening.  Attach to card with Dimensionals.
    • Finish with Genial Gems. 1 large for the "eye" and 4 scattered.

    Penguin Triple Flap Fun Fold

    This card was designed by Dawn Griffith.  It is so cute, and, another Fun Fold that I had not done! It's fast, fun, and easy! We did this one at Club Saturday! They loved it, and could envision all kinds of possibilities!!


    Measurements:   

    • Basic Black: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", 2 3/4" square
    • Fresh Freesia (N): 4 1/4" x 5 1/4"
    • Basic White: 3 7/8" x 5 1/4"
    • Penguin Playmates DSP (N) SAB: 3 3/4" x 4 1/2", penguin scrap
    To Make This Card:

      • Place 4" side Freesia piece into Trimmer, and score at 4".  Turn piece to 5 1/4" side and cut 2 1/8" pieces and 1 1" piece.. Crease 1/4" well.
      • Place adhesive on wrong side of long end of White piece.  Line up one Freesia piece across the top and the other across the bottom, attaching the 1/4" piece to the adhesive on the back.
      • Place adhesive on the back of the center of the edge. Close other flaps, and center 1" flap in between.  Catching the 1/4" edge onto the adhesive.
      • Attach this piece to the Black base.
      • Now, cut DSP. into 2 pcs @ 1 7/8" x 3 3/4" and 1 pc @ 3/4" x 3 3/4".  Attach to corresponding flaps.
      • Cut black scallop circle (approx 2 1/2") and a Freesia smooth circle (approx 2 1/8").  Adhere together.
      • Punch "penguin" from DSP and attach to circles with Dimensionals.
      • Now, attach the circles to the center "arm".
      • Let's decorate the inside.Stamp a sentiment under the top flap.
      • Punch a black "penguin" and white "tummy" from cardstock.  Assemble together.  Stamp "eyes" in black, and "feet" & "beak" in Calypso Coral. Attach to inside of card behind lower flap.  Stamp present in Fresh Freesia and sentiment in black.
      • Finish by wrapping Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon around lower flap.

      Party Puffin Circles

      This darling card is also from my demonstrator swap and was also designed by Carmen Miyoshi!  It features images from the Party Puffin stamp set set inside scallop circle frames.

      Measurements:   

      • Crushed Curry: 1/2 sheet, scrap
      • Pattern Party DSP (H) (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (Pool Party dot)
      • Basic White: 3 3/4" x 5"
      • Pale Papaya (N): 2 1/2" square
      • Misty Moonlight: 2 3/4" square
      • Flirty Flamingo: 3 1/4" square
      To Make This Card:

      • Fold  Crushed Curry card in half. Attach DSP and Whie layers. 
      • Cut double, or "framed" circles using an outer scallop circle die, and a coordinating smooth inner circle die that would create a "frame".
      • Lay this onto card as shown. Now, stamp Puffin images with Memento Black ink through the center. (Or, make pencil marks, remove "frames", and stamp the images.
      • Now, color with coordinating Blends where desired. (She used the colors from the DSP.)
      • Permanently attach circles around images.
      • Stamp sentiment in Black onto scrap of Crushed Curry.  Cut out with label from the Potted Succulent dies. Attach to card with Mini Dimensionals.

      Turtle Love

      Here is another fun card I got on our demonstrator swap.  It uses the darling Turtle Friends bundle. Notice it was stamped directly onto colored cardstock, eliminating the need to color the larger turtle.

      Measurements:   

      • Granny Apple Green: 1/2 sheet, scrap
      • Poppy Parade: 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
      • Basic White: 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
      • Pattern Party DSP (H) (N): 3 pcs @ 3/4" x 3 3/4"
      To Make This Card:

      • Fold Granny Apple Green card in half.  Stamp "hearts" in Granny Apple Green from upper right to lower left corners as shown.
      • Add Poppy Parade piece to lower right corner, over stamped "hearts" as shown.
      • Attach 3 DSP strips over Poppy Parade piece spacing them evenly.
      • Stamp sentiment across center of White piece. 
      • Stamp small "turtle" in black on upper right corner. Stamp "shell" in Granny Apple Green.  Color in rest of turtle with Lt Granny Apple Green Blend.
      • Stamp large "turtle" in black onto scrap of Granny Apple Green Stamp "shell" in Granny Apple Green ink.  Punch out with Turtle Punch.
      • Stamp "hearts" in Poppy Parade as shown.  Mount large Turtle onto the White piece, covering one "heart".
      • Attach the White piece to card, with Dimensionals, centering over Poppy Parade piece.
      • Finish with 5mm googlie eye, or punched white circle with ink dot.
