Little Cherub in Gilded Spruce

I decided to take a brief break from Bay Window cards, and share a card from a guest designer...my Mom! She created this gorgeous card using the darling little angel in the Angels of Peace stamp set!  All her supplies ARE from Stampin' Up!, however the beautiful oval dies are not. They are from Gina Marie Designs, but you can use whatever dies you have to create this card. It's the inspiration that counts!!  Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Very Vanilla: 1/2 sheet, 1 3/4" x 2 3/4" (angel)
  • Expressions in Ink DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Gold Foil: 3 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • Gold Specialty Paper: 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
To Make This Card:
  • Attach "veined" Shaded Spruce DSP to folded Vanilla Card.
  • Stamp and emboss little "angel" in gold embossing powder.  Fussy cut her out and set aside.
  • Cut largest oval from Gold Foil, cut another size from 6x6 Gold Specialty Paper. Layer together with Dimensionals, then attach to card front.
  • Add little "cherub" to ovals with Dimensionals.
  • FInish with scattered Gilded Gems.

Detailed MIni Pinwheel Tower Card

Good Morning!  Yesterday was my Mom's 89th birthday!! I had a wonderful day with my Mom and 2 sisters!!  We started the day by giving her her gift, a new walker that can convert to a push chair.  It was on back order until early September, so she was quite surprised, and pleased, that it arrived early! We then headed up to Clinto where we treated her to Chicken George at the Candlelight Inn. We came back to my youngest sister, Wendy's - our hostess with the mostest, and yummy Buster Bar dessert that my sister, Cyndi, and made.  Talk about sugar overload, but SO delicious!

So, I hated to post her card yesterday...as I know she checks out my posts daily, and I didn't want to spoil the surprise.  She was wanting to make this card, so I made one for her (and gave her the directions)!  This is the completed version of one I shared with you a week ago. Still used the gorgeous Expressions in Ink DSP, but with a birthday theme!

Expressions in Ink MIni Pinwheel Tower Card

I prefer "standard" sized cards. This version of the Pinwheel Tower Card fits in a "standard" sized envelope.  It looks so SMALL compared to my other version, but is so cute.  So, for this version, I used up scraps of my favorite DSP, Expressions in Ink and added Gold Foil (actually retired Brass) accents!!

Measurements:

  • Polished Pink (N): 4 1/4" x 5 3/4 (base), 3 pcs @ 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" ("wings")
  • Expressions in Ink (N): 4 pcs @ 2 3/4" x 4 1/4", 4 pcs @ 1 3/4" x 4"
  • Gold Foil (Brass): scraps
To Make This Card

    • Score Polished Pink "base" at 3/4", 1 1/2" 2 1/4" and 3"..Crease well. Form a "square tower" with the scored areas.  Adhere with Tear & Tape.
    • Now, take the 3 "wings" and attach to "tower" with Tear & Tape.
    • Now, it's time to decorate!!  Place the larger DSP pieces on the "wings", and the smaller DSP pieces on the left side.  Each section is created as if making one card, each, but with the same theme!
    • I cut the Gold Foil using the "leaf" die from the Artistic Dies and cut it apart.  A small frame from the Ornate Frames, "flowers" from the Floral Heart Dies, had word from the retired Well Written Dies. (didn't want to mess up the pretty paper with White labels.
