I just love this sweet color combination of 2 of our new colors - Boho Blue and Bubble Bath! I wanted to create a clean & simple card for club on Saturday and I just love this one! Along with the new colors, it also uses the new Countryside Inn DSP - now on sale, the month of June!
Measurements:
- Bubble Bath (N): 1/2 sheet, 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" (die cut pieces)
- Basic White: 3" square (carousel horse), 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scraps
- Countryside Inn DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
To Make This Card:
- Attach Boho Blue DSP layer to folded Bubble Bath card.
- Die cut "carousel awnings", "bases", and stamped "pole" from Bubble Bath piece. Set aside.
- Also, die cut one "carousel awning" from White. You'll need contrasting inserts!
- Stamp the large, single horse on a scrap of white in Memento Black.
- You don't HAVE to color the horse, you have stamps to just STAMP the details!!! I love this! So, the :mane" and cute "little flowers" on her rump are stamped in Bubble Bath. The "saddle" is stamped in Boho Blue. I added a little Wink of Stella to the "mane". (She reminds me of the My Little Ponies Amanda used to play with!)
- Die cut the horse with the corresponding die.
- Now, to assemble!
- I began with the "awning". First, I cut off the base. You will not need it for this card. Place a piece of scotch tape on the wrong side ot the awning, across the openings. Attach the contrasting pieces to the tape, and you're done with this piece.
- Next, I placed a piece of 1/8" Tear n Tape along the bottom edge of the "awning". Attach the "decorative awning" piece to the tape.
- Place Dimensionals on the back of the entire awning, and add to card front, about 1/8" from the top of the DSP.
- Now, add the Bubble Bath "pole". Tuck the "bulb" up under the "awning". I just followed a stripe to keep it straight and centered.
- To make the "base", I placed a piece of 1/8" Tear n Tape at the bottom of the larger part of the base. Then, center and attach the long piece. Attach this to the card, hiding the bottom of the "pole".
- Lastly, add the "carousel horse" with Dimensionals.
- Finish the front with Basic Rhinestones. (Remember those!)
- On the inside, I cut a piece of White from the largest Scalloped Contour die.
- Stamp the "banner" in Boho Blue. Curve the sentiment and stamp it in Bubble Bath. Die cut with corresponding die, and place on top.
- If you'd like to add a small horse to the inside, it is made by trimming the "pole" off of one of the smaller, die cut horses. Again, you can STAMP the details on this pony, too!
