Country Flowers in a Tea Pot

I really loved the Country Flowers bundle that is part of the larger mega suite, Country Woods! I also love to color, so this is right up my alley!  I paired this with the awesome Spotlight on Nature circle dies and Dotted Circles Embossing Folder! And, the base is the new Basic Beige color!! Be sure to check out the Tea Pot. I stamped on a piece of DSP, and cut it out with the coordinating die!!  Too pretty!

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 3 1/2" circle, scrap
  • Basic Beige: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Thoughtful Journey DSP (N): scrap for Tea Pot
To Make This Card:

  • Run Basic Beige piece through Dotted Circle 3D EF. Attach to folded Thick What card base.
  • Die cut Spotlight on Nature circle of your choice for the pot of flowers. Set aside.
  • Stamp "flowers" in Memento Ink onto scrap of White.
  • Color with Blends as shown. Die cut with corresponding die.
  • Select a "watercolor" piece from DSP for your "tea pot" that coordinates with the flowers you have colored! Stamp "tea pot" directly onto the DSP, and die cut with corresponding die.
  • Attach "tea pot" to die cut circle, near the bottom. And add the "flowers" on top with Dimensionals.  Note: I laid it out first to make sure it fit, then glued it down.
  • Now attach circle to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with some Wink of Stella on the flowers and a few scattered Rainbow Dots.

Little Frog on a Lily Pad

I fell in love with the Lily Pond Lane suite the moment I saw it.  The colors are so fun and, the ducks are so cute, but the little frog on the lily pad, is just adorable! I haven't seen much done with just the frog, except for this one, which I knew I had to try. Stay tuned for more ideas with this suite, especially the darling circle frame with the cattails!

  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/:4" (inside), 3 1/8" x 4 3/8"

  • Lily Pond Lane DSP (N): 1 3/8" x 3 1/8" (peach stripe), 1/2" x 5 1/4" (multicolor cattails)
To Make This Card:
  • Mount Peach Pie piece to folded Pretty in Pink card.
  • Lay Peach Pie DSP onto White layer, where desired. Mark top with pencil.
  • Remove DSP and stamp one "cattail stems" on each side. Then stamp "cattails" in Pretty in Pink.

Another Double the Fun Fold with Charming Ducks

Here is another card that combines a Book Binder Card and a Z Fold Card! Karen TItus came up with this version that uses a scenic sheet of DSP from the Lily Pond Lane DSP. She calls it a 1-2-3 Book Binder/Z fold card.  Why? Because she cuts the 6" of DSP into 3 pieces that are 1" - 2" - and the focal point of 3"!!  Too fun!  Of course, you have to trim down your DSP to 4" first! What's the difference? The size of the DSP on the right, inside! Give either version of this fun, easy card a try!!

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, scrap
  • Pretty in Pink (N): 3 1/4" x 4 1/4", scrap
  • Lily Pond Lane DSP (N): 4" x 6" scene
To Make This Card:
  • Fold White card base in half. Score front at 2 1/8" - 4 1/4". Crease well.
  • Place Tear n Tape on the 1 1/4" area, near crease. Press together creating a Book Binding Fun Fold.
  • Take the Scenic DSP and cut it at 1" - 2" - 3". Planning ahead so your focal point is the 3".  It really helps if the back side of the DSP coordinates to finish off the card!!
  • Next attach the 1" strip to the left side of the card over the "binding".  Then, attach the 2" strip to the "inside" right of the card.
  • Now, take the Pretty in Pink panel and attach the "focal point" DSP. Attach this piece to "Z" part of the card, lining up the left, top & bottom sides.
  • To create the cute little tag, die cut a Pretty in Pink circle and a designer tag in white from the Unbounded Love Dies.  Stamp sentiment of your choice onto "designer tag". Mount together and attach to card with Dimensional.
  • Stamp sentiment in Pretty in Pink on the inside.
