I was looking for a card for my Senior Center class that would give an option for my stampers that were requesting a "religious" Easter card, and still accommodate those that would prefer not to. I found this one by Verna Mullen that just did that, and I love the result! (I did add my own twist, of course!) This uses the gorgeous floral from from the Memorable Blooms Dies paired with the dimensional cross from the Faith Collection dies in the Online Store. The DSP in the background is from the Thoughtful Journey DSP - which IS being carried over into the new catalog!
Measurements:
- Boho Blue: 1/2 sheet, scrap
- Basic White:: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (one is for the inside, one is embossed for the front), 3 1/2" square (frame), scrap
- Thoughtful Journey DSP: 3 1/2" square, 1/2" x 4" strip (pastel watercolor)
- White Glimmer (OE) (ret): 1 3/4" x 2 3/4"
To Make This Card:
- Run one White layer through Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere to folded Boho Blue card.
- Select an area from the DSP and cut the "outside" of the Hexagon frame.
- Then, put the 2 Hexagon frames together and cut entire detailed frame from the White piece. Adhere to the colored DSP piece with Multipurpose Glue. Set aside.
- Now, stamp the small floral cluster in Memento Black onto scrap of White. Color with blends that coordinate with the DSP, as shown. Add Wink of Stella to the blooms. Die cut with corresponding die.
- Die cut solid "cross" from Boho Blue Cardstock, and detail "cross" from White Glimmer Paper. Adhere together.
- Adhere cross to the center of the "frame", and the "floral cluster" over, as shown.
- Place spot of adhesive directly onto White layer of card. Take 11" of Silver Edge Ribbon and loop onto adhesive, at a angle, checking to see how it will lay with the "frame".
- Next, add the "frame over the ribbon with Dimensionals.
- Finish inside with layer of White and strip of DSP.
- Finish front with Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls.
