Clean & Simple Easter Basket

So, I wanted a clean & simple card for my Senior Center gals using the Easter Basket bundle. I knew that "weaving" the basket wouldn't be a possibility, so I utilized the Woven Textures DSP for the basket instead. LOVE how it turned out! We had to have a "chocolate bunny", and I used the Pastel Shimmer papers for all the other components.  They loved it!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 1/4 sheet (arch)
  • Easter Joy (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (green print)
  • Woven Textures DSP: 3" x 4" (white wicker)
  • Pastel Shimmer Cardstock (OE): various scraps
  • Summer Splash: scrap (grass)
  • Pecan Pie: scrap (bunny)
To Make This Card:
  • Adhere green DSP to folded White card. Note: This DSP has a tendency to curl so don't skimp on the adhesive!
  • Next, die cut arch from 1/4 sheet of White. Adhere to front of card.
  • Then, die cut the "basket" from DSP.
  • Stamp "bunny" in Early Espresso ink onto scrap of Pecan Pie. Die cut with corresponding die.
  • Now, die cut 3 eggs from the 3 colors of Pastel Shimmer, one scallop from Lemon Lolly, and the "bow" from Pink.
  • Originally, I die cut the sentiment from a die, but then discovered the Three Banner Punch worked better! So, I used that in class.
  • Next, assemble the "basket" with the "grass", "scallop", and "chocolate bunny". Then, adhere to "arch" on the front of card with Dimensionals, including a Mini one at the top of the "handle". (You'll hide it with the die cut "bow".)
  • Finish the basket, but adhering, and tucking in the 3 eggs, and adding the "bow" to the top of the "handle".
  • I stamped the sentiment in Black ink and then ended up punching it out.
  • I finished with a Pretty in Pink Flat Pearl as the "knot" on the "bow", and scattered Summer Splash Flat Pearls.
  • For the inside, I stamped 3 "eggs" in Basic Gray & die cut them.
