Flower Basket #1

This is another darling sample, by Cindy Elam, that uses the stamped flowers from the Easter Basket set along with that darling basket! The background is the new Lovely Stripes Embossing Folder, paired with the Branching Out Dies (still avail in the OnLine Store).

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 3 1/2" x 5" (label), scraps
  • Balmy Blue: 1/4 sheet, scraps
  • Peach Pie: 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Crumb Cake: 3" x 4" (basket)
To Make This Card:
  • Run the 1/4 sheet of Balmy Blue through the new Lovely Stripes Embossing Folder. (Note: This EF has a tendency to cut really deep, so if you have a "tight" die cutting machine, you might want to add a piece of waxed paper, or copy paper.)
  • Adhere to folded White card base.
  • Next, add the Peach Pie strip to the front.
  • Now, die cut Branching Out "label" from Basic White. Set aside.
  • Stamp 7 "flower clusters" in Memento Ink onto White cardstock.
  • Color with Blends, and die cut with corresponding die.
  • Die cut "basket" and "scalloped edge" from Crumb Cake.
  • Also, die cut the "woven strips" from Balmy Blue.
  • Next, assemble the "basket". Weave 3 strips of Balmy Blue. (Note: I find it helps to have tweezers to help pull the strips through.) Then, add the "scalloped edge".
  • Attach "basket" base to White die cut "label". Add the "flower clusters" as shown, tucking the first one in the center, and building the arrangement behind.
  • Add "label" to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with Balmy Blue Gingham Bow, and Peach Pie Flat Pearls.
