I finally made a true "diorama" using the Layering Diorama DIes and the Seascape Bundle. I also used my Blending Brushes A Lot! I saw this "traditional" diorama online, changed up the colors, created it with the same size Diorama dies, and ended up with an oversize card (something I rarely do!). My sample must have been from one of our "foreign" demos! Their cards are larger! I love how it turned out!
Measurements:
- Thick Basic White: 2 pcs 4 1/2" x 7 3/8"
- Basic White: 2" x 4"
- Coastal Cabana: 4 1/4" x 5 1/4", 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"
- So Saffron: 2 1/4" x 3 1/8", scrap
- Blushing Bride: 2 1/4" x 3 1/8"
- Bermuda Bay:1 1/2" x 3 1/2", 1" x 2 1/8"
- Pale Papaya: scrap
To Make This Card:
- Score Thick White pieces at 1/2" and 1" from each end. Fold and crease 1/2" up, and 1" back on each piece.
- Burnish color on the "inside" of the back layer, using Blending Brushes. I used Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay, with lighter Coastal Cabana on top, and getting darker into Bermuda Bay. Apply color in a circular motion!
- Stamp "school of fish" in Bermuda Bay in upper left corner. I stamped 2.
- Cut 2 "seaweed" one from Cabana and one from Bermuda Bay. Attach to bottom left of "back" piece over color.
- Cut "seahorse" from Whisper White. Remove from base. Shade with Calypso Coral and a Blending Brush. Attach to base as shown.
- Now, for the "front". Cut largest Diorama Layer from front White piece. Cut the next, nesting Layer from Coastal Cabana. Attach to wrong side of White piece.
- Attach White pieces together with Tear & Tape, placed along 1/2" scoring pieces, as shown!
- Cut one "coral" from Blushing Bride, and one "coral" from So Saffron. Shade with Calypso Coral and Blending Brush. Attach to back side of "front" of card. I attached one each corner.
- Cut smaller fish from So Saffron and Pale Papaya. Shade with Calypso Coral and Blending Brush. Add Wink of Stella to these fish. Place inside and outside where desired.
- Finish with die cut "Happy Birthday" in Bermuda Bay, and a bow of Iridescent Ribbon. Oh, I also added an "eye" to the "seahorse" using a Opal Round.
