Penguin Under Glass

This darling Penguin sample was inspired by a sample in the SAB brochure!  I think he turned out pretty cute, but then I'm a huge fan of "domes". ..and cute critters! The neat thing is, the Penguin Builder Punch can punch out the images from the DSP.  (However, all the rest of his "friends" need to be fussy cut!). Where to find the DSP???  It's FREE if you use SAB rewards!

Measurements:

  • Just Jade: 1/2 sheet, scrap
  • Fresh Freesia (N): 3" x 3 3/4"
  • Penguin Playmates DSP (N) SAB: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Cinnamon Cider: scrap
  • Basic White: 2 1/4" square
To Make This Card:

    • Fold Just Jade in half.
    • Cut "cloche dome" from DSP.  Lay on top of folded card to determine placement of Fresh Freesia layer.  Attach this layer to Just Jade card.
    • Stamp "penguin" in Black into onto piece of White cardstock.  Stamp "eyes" in Black and "feet" and "beak" in Calypso Coral.  Punch out "penguin".
    • Stamp "hat" and "scarf" in Just Jade.  Fussy cut these 2 pieces out.
    • Stamp "tree" in Soft Sea Foam.  Fussy cut this out as well.
    • Lay the DSP with the opening onto card.  Arrange pieces onto Freesia piece, so will fit in dome.  Remove DSP.
    • Now, attach "dome" to DSP by removing covering on adhesive.
    • Add small "pile" of sequins on top of "penguin".
    • Add adhesive to back of DSP, remove rest of covering on tape and carefully attach to card front, enclosing sequins under dome.
    • Now, cut "base" from Cinnamon Cider. Try to keep pieces inside. (try using Press n Seal).  Attach below dome.
    • Color White Bakers Twine with Fresh Freesia Blend.  Set aside to dry.
    • Emboss sentiment in White onto scrap of Just Jade.  Cut out with die from Tasteful Label Dies. Attach to dome with Mini Glue Dot.
    • Tie bow with twine and add next to tag.
    • Finish by scattering sequins above dome.
