New Wisteria Wishes Tent Card

I have been wanting to use this awesome new stamp bundle, Wisteria Wishes since I got it! I saw this fun fold using it, and just had to try it!  It's called a "Tent Fold".  We used to do these years ago with a cut-out frame and made it into a little standing picture frame. The idea came from demonstrator Laura Seki. The dimensional wisteria are done using Blending Brushes and 3 colors of ink and hanging in the cut opening. The leaves are just gorgeous.  I blended just a little ink on those, too.  I am sharing this card in a Shoebox Swap I'm participating in this weekend in the Ozarks.  This is an in person event and I can't wait!!

Measurements:

  • Crumb Cake: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 4" x 4 1/4"
  • Basic White: 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" (Wisteria)
  • Old Olive: scraps
  • Very Vanilla: scrap
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Crumb Cake base in half.  Cut Stitched Rectangle from "front".
  • Take the rectangle that you cut out, and run it through the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Burnish Crumb Cake ink onto the "bricks" with a Blending Brush.
  • Close card, and re-insert brick piece through the opening.
  • Next, cut out 2 "branches" from Old Olive cardstock.  Add a little Old Olive ink with a Blending Brush.
  • Now, cut out 2 "sets" of Wisteria. (one is a little "heavier-looking", and one more "detailed") from Basic White cardstock.
  • Carefully burnish the 3 shades of purple onto the White cardstock.I started with the lighter, Fresh Freesia, then the new Orchid Oasis, and lastly Gorgeous Grape ink.  You can add more if you wish, but you are looking for shades!  You could also do this on a scrap of White and then cut them out, but I preferred being able to place the  colors where I wanted to right on the pieces themselves!
  • Now, using a little Multipurpose Glue, adhere the detail "wisteria" to the "heavier" piece.  I just adhered them together down the middle.
  • Next, add one "Wisteria" to the front opening, overlapping a little on the left side, as shown.
  • Attach the other "Wisteria" to the BACK with Mini Glue Dots (before you add the "stand".  I made this one a little shorter.
  • Next, add one branch to the front. Or, one and a half.  And, then add the other half to the back.  However you want to create the dimension!!
  • Now, it's time to add the "stand".  Take the 4"x4 1/4" piece and score at 1" - 2" - 3" along the 4" side.  Create in an accordion fold. Adhere first "valley" fold to front cut edge of card.  Lay card flat and attach the other "valley" fold to back cut edge of card.  I used Tear n Tape to adhere this piece.
  • Stamp sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink onto Vanilla scrap.  Cut out with new, Stylish Shapes Banner Die. I added a little Crumb Cake ink to the tag to remove some of the "brightness".
  • Finish with a double bow from Linen Thread.
