Floating Rainbow

So, I'm baack!!  Had a wonderful weekend with my Stampin' Sisters!!  Rejuvenated, inspired, and ready to stamp.  But, first, I want to share some of the projects we did with you.  I personally made them all, but they were designed and prepared by many different Stampin' Up! Demostrators.  SO MUCH FUN!! I learned some new techniques, tried some new folds, played with the new InColors (a lot!) and used stamp sets that I don't have!!  I'm in trouble!  Guess I need to put in another order!!  Anyway, my first share was designed by Marty Thompson.  This is called the "floating" technique, similar to one I did just a few years back, but so much EASIER!!  You will see this technique soon!!  Stay tuned.

Measurements:

  • Base - New InColor - I chose Orchid Oasis (N): 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (outside), 3 3/4" x 5" (inside) 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" (rectangle), scraps
  • Window Sheet: 3" x 4"
  • Granny Apple Green: 1/4" x 4"
  • Parakeet Party (N): 3/4" x 4", scrap
  • Starry Sky (N): 1/4" x 4"
  • Orchid Oasis (N): 3/4" x 4", scrap
  • Mango Melody: 1/4" x 4", scrap
  • Daffodil Delight: 3/4" x 4"
  • Flirty Flamingo: 1/4" x 4"
  • Sweet Sorbet (N): 3/4" x 4", scrap
To Make This Card:
  • Stamp sentiment in Sweet Sorbet near bottom, center of White Base.
  • Then, randomly stamp "cloud detail" in Parakeet Party around outside edges of White base. Attach to chosen folded card base.
  • Before you cut the strips that "float" on the Window Sheet, mount the cardstock onto Adhesive Sheets. (Too cool)
  • Now, peel off the backs of the strips and layer onto the Window Sheet as shown, starting at the far left side.  These will hang over the edges, it's just easier to work this way.  I would also suggest working on your Silicone Mat!!
  • When all the strips are on the Window Sheet to your satisfaction, trip the top and bottoms of the cardstock, and far edge of the Window Sheet.  Mount this piece to the card with Dimensionals.
  • Cut small Stitched Scallop rectangle from Basic White. (this Die Set was just retired)
  • Cut the open "rainbow" from the center. Attach to rainbow pieces.
  • Cut "bows" from 4 colors, with Adhesive attach.  Just peel and stick into "rainbow".
  • Cut out several "clouds" Stamp with "cloud detail" and Parakeet Party. Attach to card as shown.  Some flat, and some popped up with Dimensionals.
  • Attach smaller White piece to inside of card.  Stamp one "arch" in Orchid Oasis, and another in Daffodil Delight.  Stamp sentiment in center of Daffodil "arch" in Sweet Sorbet.
