I got the tutorial for this awesome Grassy Grove Book Mark Card in a class bundle from Kelly Acheson. I just loved it, and I know you will, too! So grab the gorgeous New Horizons, soon to be retired, DSP and your Grove Dies, and let's have some fun!
Measurements:
- Petal Pink: 1/2 sheet, 2" x 5" (bookmark)
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
- Basic Gray: 4" x 4" (front), 1 7/8" x 3 7/8" (bookmark), scraps (deer)
- New Horizons (N): 4" x 5 1/4", 1 7/8" x 4 7/8" (bookmark), 3/4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
To Make This Card:
- Fold Petal Pink card in half. Add White layer to inside, along with 3/4" strip.
- Cut right side of "woods" from 4"x4" Basic Gray layer, cut the left side of "woods" from smaller piece.
- To create the bookmark, attach the DSP to the Petal Pink strip. Attach the die cut gray piece on top, matching the top cut edges.
- Stamp sentiment in Basic Gray at the bottom.
- Punch a hole at the top and thread through 7" ribbon, book-mark style. Set aside.
- Attach the 4"x4" die cut Basic Gray piece to DSP layer. I used Multipurpose Glue.
- Lay bookmark on top of DSP layer and, using a pencil, mark width of bookmark just below Gray cut edge. Cut a slit with your paper trimmer, blade, or scissors. Test to make sure the bookmark fits. Trim a little, if necessary.
- Next, place 1/8" Tear n Tape onto the bottom and left edge of layer. You can use regular adhesive for the other 2 sides. Adhere to folded Petal Pink card.
- Finish with sentiment on front stamped in Basic Gray, 2 Deer, and a couple of "Pebbles" (soon to be retired, too!)
- Attach larger DSP to folded Black card. (I used a pattern from the Hand Penned DSP, but there is also an awesome piece of swirl that would be great, too).
- Center the "window grove" over the smaller Black piece. Cut the tree opening the best you can, having tree "trunks" at the outside edges.
- Attach this "window tree" piece to DSP. Then "frame" this piece with the last Black piece.
- Attach all to card, where desired.
- Before you finish. Cut deer from scrap of Black, or scrap you removed from "window".
- Stamp sentiment of your choice in black over to the side.
