While I was researching my "original" Center Pop Up Window, I found this, first version! So, I wanted to give this one a try, too. The difference, it doesn't stand on its' own, unless a full card, or you have a stand on back. And, the Pop Up is truly in the center! This one uses the New Horizons DSP, Rectangle Dies, and Paradise Palms Bundle. This is a really neat one to try, too! I hope to do a video this week!
Measurements:
- Shaded Spruce: 1/2 sheet, 1/4 sheet, 2 pcs @ 1 3/4" x 3", scraps
- New Horizons DSP: 4" x 5 1/4", 3 3/8" x 4 3/4"
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
To Make This Card:
- Attach the DSP of your choice to the folded Shaded Spruce card. Set aside.
- Cut rectangle from Shaded Spruce piece using #6 Stitched Rectangle.
- Next, cut a "frame" another piece of DSP using the #5 and #3 Stitched Rectangles. (I used the same sheet of DSP, but anything will work.
- Adhere DSP to cut Shaded Spruce layer. Now, cut "window" opening through Shaded Spruce with #2 Stitched Rectangle. Set aside.
- Stamp "trio of palm trees" in Evening Evergreen onto scrap of Shaded Spruce. Cut out with corresponding die.
- Also cut "grass" and large "palm tree" from Shaded Spruce scraps.
- Now, attach "grass" behind frame opening, then "trio of trees". Set aside.
- Now, let's make the Pop Up mechanism.
- Score the 2, 1 3/4" x 3" pieces at 3/8", 3/4", 1 1/8", 1 1/2". crease well.
- Place Tear n Tape along 3/8" piece. Flatten the piece in half and adhere. Crease back and forth to make sure it is folded in half evenly all ways. Repeat for the other column.
- Next, place Tear n Tape along one 3/4" side of each column. Remove backings from tape. Place on wrong side of "window" an 1/8" from cut side. Leave this center piece in place and adhere the other side while in this position. Now, pull up the center. It should fold either way!!
- To finish. Attach "palm tree" to front of card. Add White piece to inside, and stamp inside with Shaded Spruce as desired.
