Clean & Simple Sketched Butterfly Card

I was looking for a clean and simple card for my Senior Center class this month, and found this layout! I grabbed the retired Bloom Impressions DSP from SAB, the dies and stamps from the Sketched Butterfly Bundle (still available), and a retired Basics Embossing Folder, to create this card. Please to note, I frequently use up my retired products for these classes!  But, you should already have them, too, or at least something that will work!

Measurements:

  • Daffodil Delight: 1/2 sheet, scraps (for die cut butterflies)
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (one for the inside), 2 5/8" square
  • Calypso Coral: 2 7/8" square
  • Bloom Impressions DSP: 2 pcs @ 2 3/8" square, 1/2" x 4"
To Make This Card:
  • Run one of the White layers through an Embossing Folder.  Attach to folded Daffodil Delight card base.
  • Attach the 2 DSP pieces to the corners of the card, as shown.
  • Stamp sentiment in Calypso Coral ink onto White square. Add White square to Calypso Coral Square, and attach to card base with Dimensionals.
  • Die cut single "detail" butterfly from scrap of Daffodil Delight, along with the center butterfly from the trio of detailed butterflies.  You will have to do a little trimming on this one.
  • Add a little additional color with Calypso Coral ink, and small Blending Brush.  Attach to White square with Mini Glue Dots.
  • Finish inside of card with remaining White layer, and the DSP strip.
  • Finish the outside, with Faceted Iridescent Gems, and Neutral Sequins.

Playing in the Rain Split Front Card

I haven't used this Bundle in AGES, and I sure don't know why!  It's so stinkin' cute!  I saw this idea using the Floral & Gingham Vellum, with the cute dancing bunny, and knew I had to make it!  I think I'll do this one in my "advanced" Senior class in May! It's so cheerful!

Measurements:

  • Pool Party: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, scrap
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", scraps (clouds, bunny)
  • Thick Basic White: 2 5/8" x 4 1/4" (label)
  • Floral & Gingham Vellum DSP (N): 3" x 4 1/4"
To Make This Card:
  • Score Pool Party base @ 2 3/4" from each end. Crease well.
  • Next, trim 1 1/4" from each end.  Save one of these pieces for the label.
  • Take the White layer and stamp "clouds" and "raindrops" in Pool Party ink, in the upper left corner.  Attach layer to inside of card.
  • Attach gingham vellum onto top cut edge of card base.  I used narrow Tear n Tape, but you could use Multipurpose Glue as well.  Leave the bottom end free.
  • Die cut "label" from Countryside Corners Dies from Thick Basic White.
  • Stamp "bunny" onto "label" in Memento Black ink. Stamp, again, onto regular Basic White.  Color with Blends, and die cut with corresponding die.
  • Attach die cut over stamped image on "label" with Dimensionals.
  • Center "label" over opening and adhere TOP to top of card with Dimensionals, leaving the bottom half free.
  • Now, stamp sentiment in Black ink onto scrap of Pool Party.  Die cut with label die. I used the retiring Autumn Leaves Dies.
  • Add "label" to front of card, onto bottom panel.  I used a Dimensional on the Right and Bottom Left, leaving the top left free, to tuck in the "bunny label" for closure.
  • Next, die cut the 3 "clouds" from scrap of regular White.  Sponge on some Pool Party color with a Sponge Dauber or Small Blending Brush.  Add to card front, with Dimensionals, as shown.
  • Finish with scattered Pool Party Rainbow Dots

Textured Notes Clean & Simple Card

I was looking for a nice, clean & simple masculine-looking card for my Senior Center class, and found this one...and I LOVE it!  It uses the entire Textured Notes Bundle!! The dies, the DSP, the stamps, and the bling! A perfect combination/layout for any card, but the colors are perfect for a "guy" card!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 2" x  3 1/2", 3/4" x 4"
  • Crumb Cake: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8", 2 1/2" x 4"
  • Pecan Pie: 4" x 5 1/4"

Pieced Textured Notes Card

I saw this cool card using the Textured Notes Bundle. It created a neat pieced background using the Woven Textures DSP and Textured Notes Dies! I also liked the use of a vellum (retired), crimped arch behind the focal point.  All really neat, rather time consuming, and what I call a "one and done"!  I.e. You won't make this in any of my classes!!

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet,
  • Basic White: 2 1/4" x 3 1/2" (stamped image), 1/2 sheet (pieced base)
  • Vellum (retired): 3" x 4 1/4"
  • Woven Textures DSP: various patterns and sizes
To Make This Card:
  • Take various patterns of DSP (around 8 different patterns - and a 9th for the label). Cut various sizes from the Textured Notes Dies.  (Use mine for a guide, keeping in mind that some die cuts get trimmed, eventually, substantially.
  • Arrange the die cut pieces into a rectangle.  Using the largest die as a guide, as you will be cutting the entire piece into one large rectangle.
  • Then, die cut. And layer onto folded Thick Cardstock.
  • Now, cut an arch from the Vellum piece
  • Next, emboss with the new, Corrugated Embossing Folder. It cuts deep, so to keep the vellum from getting cut, place a piece of copy paper underneath the vellum before embossing. Set aside.
  • Stamp leaf image in Early Espresso ink onto piece of white.  Fussy cut image.
  • Attach image to vellum arch. And, then attach arch to card front, adhering adhesive behind image and then attaching to front of card.
  • Stamp sentiment onto final label, in Early Espresso ink.  Add to card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with double bow of Linen Thread, and Antique Pearls.
