Amber Autumn Watercolor Blending

This card is the result of a post directly from Stampin' Up! sent to demonstrators! I fell in love and new that I had to share it! It utilizes a neat technique done with ink, Blending Brushes, spritzer and watercolor paper!  The effect will be different every time!

Measurements:

  • Very Vanilla: 1/2 sheet, 1 1/8" x 2 5/8"
  • Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Cajun Craze: 1/2" x 3"
  • Crushed Curry: scrap
To Make this Card:
  • Take Watercolor Paper and Blending Brushes and add random color to the Watercolor Paper, overlapping colors.  I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Blackberry Bliss.
  • Next, take a spritzer filled with water, and spray over ink.  Allow to sit and blend, and then dab with a tissue.  Then allow to dry.  A Heat Tool can help speed up this process.
  • Once dry, and it may curl, die cut with "leafy frame" from the Amber Autumn bundle. You will need to run it back and forth several times, as the Watercolor Paper is thick!
  • Now, you can adhere it to the card front.
  • Next, take the Vanilla "label" piece and emboss with Copper.
  • Add a strip of Cajun Craze underneath and add to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Die cut a Crushed Curry "leaf" from the Amber Autumn Dies.
  • Tie a bow with Linen Thread and add to label behind "leaf".
  • Finish with scattered Purple Shimmer Gems.
  • For the inside, I embossed the sentiment in Copper Embossing.
