I saw a version of this card using the dies from the Branching Out Bundle as a "frame". I think it is a nice effect. I also decided to emboss the "frame" with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder. I like it! The focal point image is stamped in Early Espresso ink and colored with ink and a Blender Pen. I scaled down the little cluster in the lower right corner. Not something I usually do, so I gave it a try... I think I like it!
Measurements:
- Crumb Cake: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
- Thick Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (for frame)
- Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (1 for the inside), scrap
- Basic Beige: 4" x 5 1/4"
- Earthen Toned Metallic (N): scrap
To Make This Card:
- Stamp "Holy Family" in Early Espresso ink onto piece of Basic Beige.
- Color with refill inks (or ink from the lids of your ink pads) and a Blender Pen. I used Petal Pink for the "dress", Balmy Blue for the "baby blanket", Basic Beige for the under garment, White Craft ink for the outer garment, Early Espresso for hair and staff, and Lemon Lolly for the other hair.
- Die cut "Branching Out die from Thick White cardstock, creating a "frame". Emboss, if desired. I used the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder.
- Attach the "frame" to the stamped image with Foam Strips. Then, trim away the excess Basic Beige that may be showing. Before attaching to folded Crumb Cake card front, stamp "star" inside the "frame".
- Stamp sentiment in Early Espresso and die cut with label from the Snowflake Kisses dies.
- Adhere to die cut circle of Earthen Toned Metallic paper, as shown.
- Loop some White & Gold Bakers twine on the back of circle, and then adhere to lower right corner of card.
- Finish with scattered Faceted Iridescent Gems.
