Peace on Earth Clean & Simple Card

It took me a while to figure out how this card was made! I liked how the Glimmer paper was showing from the center of the embossing folder. And, it took me a while to figure that out.  While the EF is not a Hybrid Folder, the center label die cut CAN be cut at the same time that you emboss with the folder! The designer also used a full 1/4 sheet of Glimmer paper for the layer, with the center cut-out showing in the opening.  I chose to conserve on Glimmer paper, and just add a rectangle of Glimmer paper in the opening, and mount it on Lost Lagoon! Oh, and the actual embossed layer is from the DSP pack.  It's paper! And, is gorgeous!

Measurements:

  • Cloud Cover (N): 1/2 sheet
  • Lost Lagoon: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
  • Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper (N): 2 3/8" x 4 1/4" ("green")
  • Peaceful Garden DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4", 5/8" x 4" (light blue "watercolor")
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
To Make this Card:
  • Adhere Lost Lagoon layer to folded Cloud Cover card.  You will only have a 1/16" border!
  • Next, dry emboss the Peaceful Garden DSP piece with Peaceful Greenery Embossing Folder, and the larger "label" die, making sure that the "watercolor" side is up.  Keep the inside piece.
  • Now, take the die cut label from the center of the embossed piece, and cut smaller with the smaller label die.  Stamp sentiment of your choice in Lost Lagoon ink.  For mine, I used sentiments from the Peace on Earth stamps.  The "peace" is masked.
  • Adhere the soft "green" glimmer piece behind label opening with Tear and Tape. (Remember it's hard to adhere glitter paper!) Then, adhere to card front.
  • Attach Label to inside opening with Foam Adhesive Sheet squares.
  • Die cut larger "sprig" from scrap of Glimmer paper. Dissect this into 2 pieces and adhere to "label" where desired. I used "green glue", but if I had thought ahead I would have used an adhesive sheet!
  • Finish inside with White layer, and strip of DSP.
  • Finish outside with bow of Silver Cord, and scattered Fine Sparkle Dots (ret)
