Lily of the Valley Pillar Card

Here is another one of Liz's designs.  This is another one that *I* have never done!  She created it in 2 sizes.  The larger one fits in a large envelope, the one I did fits into a regular A2 envelope! She shared the instructions for both...in Imperial Dimensions..which is so nice!  If you ever need a card that can stand on a desk, night stand, or table, this a perfect one to try!

Measurements:

  • Coastal Cabana: 5 1/4" x 7 1/2"
  • Garden Green: 2 pcs @ 1 1/2" x 5", 6 pcs @ 1 1/2" square
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 1 1/4" square, 1 1/4" x 4 3/4"
  • Lily of the Valley (N): 4 pcs @ 1 1/4" square, 1 1/4" x 4 3/4" (Sm Lily of the Valley print)
To Make this Card:

  • Score the Coastal Cabana base along the long side at 1 3/4"-3 1/2"-5 1/4"-7". Score along the short side @ 1 3/4" - 3 1/2".
  • Place base in the trimmer with the short side along the measurements, with the 1/2" "extension" on the bottom. You are going to make 2 "slits", one on each side at 1 3/4", starting at the first score line, cutting through the 2nd, and stopping at the 3rd.
  • Lightly crease on all score lines making mountain folds.
  • Place Tear & Tape along 1/2" "extension" and adhere "box" together to create a square.
  • The finished card/box has the center section pushed in.  Give that a try so you can see how it will look when finished!
  • Now, lay the card flat on your table, with the slit side up!
  • Place all 6 Garden Green squares onto the 6 sections of the "front".
  • Next, adhere the 4 DSP squares on the 2 top and 2 bottom sections.
  • Stamp sentiment in Garden Green ink onto one White square. Adhere this to one side.  Then adhere the other White square to the other.
  • Flip the card over so we can complete the back.
  • Adhere the 2 Garden Green Strips, over the score lines to add stability.
  • Then, add the DSP strip to one side.
  • Stamp and color the small Lily of the Valley image to the bottom of the White strip. Then, adhere to the other Garden Green strip.
  • To finish the front, stamp the "detail" butterflies from the All Aflutter stamp set in Garden Green ink, on a scrap of White. Stamp color in stamped off Coastal Cabana ink. It's easiest to add Wink of Stella, now, if desired. Punch out with coordinating Punch.
  • Then, I used the 2 smaller butterflies on the last, inside White layer.
  • Finish with scattered Coastal Cabana Shimmering Dots in the inside.
