Window Sheet Easel Card

This was the card that caught my eye on Liz's card fold class! It looks like floating flowers! How fun!! And, it really is an easel card created with a Window Sheet. Who would have thought??  Of course, she used the gorgeous Valley in Bloom DSP and the dies from the Lily of the Valley dies. Such a unique card, unlike anything I've ever made!! (I did have to adjust it from a square card!) You have to give it a try!  Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Garden Green: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Granny Apple Green: 2: x 3 1/2"
  • Lemon Lime Twist: 4" x 5 1/4", 1" x 3 1/8" (sentiment)
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" (insides), 3/4" x 3" (sentiment), 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" (flower stems)
  • Window Sheet: 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
  • Valley in Bloom DSP (N): 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" (corner floral)
To Make this Card:

  • Adhere Lemon Lime Twist layer to folded Garden Green card base.
  • Before adding corner floral DSP piece, stamp sentiment in Garden Green ink into opening left in DSP. Now, you can add it to the front of the card.
  • Now, to work on the inside.
  • Let's begin by die cutting 3 floral "sprigs" from White.  Also, die cut 2 "leaves" from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
  • Color the "stems" of the "sprigs" with a Granny Apple Green Blends. Add a little color to the "leaves" with a Blending Brush and Garden Green ink.  Set this aside for the moment.
  • Next, take the Window sheet, and score the short end at 1/2".  You will need to push really hard to create the score line, and then use a bone folder to crease really firmly.
  • Tuck one of the White layers underneath, so that you can see well enough to add the flowers to it.
  • Arrange the 3 "sprigs" onto the Window Sheet. It is particularly difficult to glue onto acetate. So, I attached them with Mini Glue Dots on the flowers.  You won't need to add one to each flower. Random dots work just fine.
  • Lastly add "leaves" to the arrangement using Tear n Tape.
  • Next, add the Window sheet to one of the White inside pieces with Tear n Tape, hooking the acetate over the edge of the layer. Then adhere the entire layer to the top part of the inside of the card.  Notice the border is 3/8".
  • The other White inside piece can be added at this time.
  • Stamp sentiment onto white piece in Garden Green.  Adhere to the Lemon Lime Twist layer.
  • Then, add this to the bottom inside with Dimensionals, so you have a "prop" for the "easel".
  • Finish front with embellishments of your choice.
