Penguin Side Pull Out Card

In the past, I have shared the awesome Side Pull Out Card using a square, a circle, and an oval.  So, here is an updated version using a Scalloped Rectangle!

Measurements:

  • Basic Black: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 5 1/4" x 8", 2 1/4" x 3 3/8", scrap
  • Real Red: 2 1/4" x 3 3/8"
  • Peaceful Prints SAB (N): 4" x 5 1/4", 1 3/4" x 5 1/4"
To Make This Card
  • Fold Basic Black card base in half. Attach Peaceful Prints DSP quarter to front along outside edges only.
  • Cut largest scallop rectangle through both layers on front of card.  Discard DSP piece, and set Black cardstock piece aside to use later.
  • Fold Basic White card in half, and then again in half, back on itself, creating a "Z" fold. Crease well. Flip over so the "Z" is on the right, and adhere "base" to inside of Black card. Attach other DSP strip to inside narrow panel.
  • Close card.  Place adhesive on part of the "z" fold that is showing through the rectangle. Take the scallop rectangle that you removed from the front and adhere through the opening, lining up the scallops.
  • Cut the next size scallop rectangle from the White piece.  Attach Red piece and this White piece to Black scallop rectangle.
  • Stamp Penguin in Memento Black onto scrap of White.  Also stamp his "feet" and "beak".  Punch out with Penguin Builder Punch.
  • Stamp "stocking hat" and "scarf" in Real Red ink.  You will have to "fussy cut" these out.
  • Attach penguin to White rectangle, and then add "accessories".
  • On the inside of card, stamp sentiment in Black and "accesories" in Real Red.
  • Finish with a Black Gingham bow.
