I just love ovals and arches! And, we now have a whole set of nested arches! I love it! I saw a version of this card, and have it a try, adding my own touches! My sample is actually colored with Blends, but I also tried coloring with inks and watercolor brush, and our watercolor pencils. I also played with different papers - i.e. Thick Cardstock and Fluid Watercolor Paper, as well as painting with Wink of Stella instead of Water. (This is really cool! Give it a try!)
Measurements:
- Granny Apple Green:1/2 sheet
- Pool Party: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
- Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (1 for inside), 3 1/4" x 4 3/8" (arch), 3 3/8" x 4 3/4" (Tulips)
- Bloom Impressions DSP (SAB) (N): 2" x 4" (aqua floral)
To Make This Card:
- Adhere one White layer to folded Granny Apple Green card. (Now that my sample is done, it might be nice to run this layer through an embossing folder - perhaps the new Online Store Plaster Painting 3D Embossing Folder?
- Attach DSP to card front as shown.
- Die cut larger "arch" from Pool Party, and die cut smaller from White.
- Stamp Elements of Text (Online Store) in Gray Granite Ink. Note: You will need to stamp this 4 times. The text DOES fit inside each other. Pretty cool.
- Layer the 2 "arches" together and adhere to card front.
- Now, stamp the "tulips" in Memento Black ink onto piece of White cardstock. I colored the Tulips in Blends, using Pool Party & Summer Splash for the tulips, Lemon Lime Twist for the "leaves", and a touch of Gray Granite on the smaller flowers.
- Next, die cut "tulips" from cardstock. Add Wink of Stella to the "tulips" and the smaller flowers. Attach to card, over "arches" with Dimensionals.
- Finish with a double White Bakes Twine bow, and scattered Tinsel 3 Gems.
