So, I was looking for a fast, fun, and easy Fun Fold Card for class this month. Susan Campfield to the rescue, again! She calls this a Panorama Pop Up card. She has several designs using this fold, but I picked this version to try, first! (Stay tuned to more ideas, I love this fold!) This one uses the new Florals in Bloom DSP along with the new, Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder. So, here's my take on her design!
Measurements:
- Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 4 3/4" x 4" (embossed piece that's behind), 1 1/2" x 7" (will cut in half for top & bottom pop up pieces), 2" x 7" (center pop up piece), scraps3/
- Strawberry Slush (N): 3/4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
- Florals in Bloom DSP (N): 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" (center pieces - will cut as go to maintain pattern) 1/2" x 5 1/4" (inside strip) (large floral); 2 ps 1/2" x 2 3/4" (will cut as go) (Strawberry Slush sm print)
To Make This Card:
- Take the 2 pieces for the Pop Ups, and score @ 3/4" - 1 1/2" - 5 1/2" - 6 1/4". Cut the 1 1/2" wide strip in half @ 3/4". Crease well creating a "valley fold", "mtn fold", "mtn fold", "valley fold", across the strips. Set aside.
- Run 4 3/4" x 4" piece through the new, Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder. This is a "directional" folder, so the embossing needs to go across the 4 3/4" side, or widest side.
- Next, remove 1/2" from each end of this piece, keeping the pattern intact (i.e. keep track of which end goes on which end). Set aside.
- Now, back to the Pop Up strips. Starting with the top, narrow Pop Up strip, place adhesive on the wrong side of the 3/4" square on the left side, line up into the left corner of the folded White card base (the fold is on your left). Adhere.
- Repeat with the remaining narrow Pop Up strip and the bottom left corner.
- Then, add the 2", center Pop Up strip, centering between the 2 Pop Ups.
- Fold the 3 strips back out of the way, and then adhere the larger Embossed piece to the front. Then, continue with adhering the strips to the right side, in the corners and centered in between. The card base is done!
- Now you can add the remaining Embossed pieces to the seft and right ends, continuing the pattern of the folder.
- Next, take the larger of the 2 DSP strips. Cut across, removing 1/2" from top and bottom.
- Lay out, keeping the pattern intact. Start with the top and adhere first piece to the top, wider piece to the center, and remaining piece to the bottom. You can flatten the Pop Ups to adhere these DSP pieces.
- Repeat with the side patterns. Removing 1/2" from the top and bottom, and adding to the sides...
- For the inside, layer the 2 strips together, and adhere to inside of card.
- Stamp sentiment in Strawberry Slush ink and die cut with largest tag die from the Mixed Labels dies in the Online Store, and add over strips.
- To finish the front, stamp sentiment in Strawberry Slush ink onto scrap of White. Die cut with smallest Mixed Labels dies. Mount onto White medium label from these dies as well, with Dimensionals.
- Finish with Strawberry Slush knot, and scattered Strawberry Slush and Pretty in PInk gems.
