I saw this collection of cards by Australian, Gail Ellis, and fell in love! So much so, that it prompted me to purchase the now retired, Linked Together Dies! (I already had the DSP!). I just FINALLY had time, while my aunt was here, to make several of them!! I DO really like them. Gail always has wonderful ideas, frequently in multiples, which makes your investment more economical! So, here is the first of 3 that I have tried, so far....with 3 more to go!
Measurements:
- Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 4" x 5 1/4", 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" (diamond die cut); scraps
- Pretty Peacock: scraps
- Lost Lagoon: scraps
- Everyday Happiness DSP: 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" (Floral - diamond die cut), 3/4" x 4" (gingham)
To Make this Card:
- Run White layer through Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder now found in the Online Store.
- Adhere this layer to folded White card base.
- Next, die cut the diamond shape from the Linked Together Dies. Cut another diamond shape from the floral print.
- Split the DSP diamond in half - short-ways. Remove approx. 1/4" from each cut edge and reassemble on top of White diamond with 1/4" edge showing.
- Now, add to center of card front.
- To "hide" cut edge, cover with strip of gingham DSP.
- Next, die cut both small "sprigs" from Pretty Peacock scraps, and larger "branch" from Lost Lagoon scrap.
- Also die cut 4 flowers, from the Linked Together Dies, in White (you will only need 2). Also cut 2 sizes of butterflies from the Beautiful Butterfly Dies, also in White.
- Arrange all die cut pieces as shown.
- Embellish with Iridescent Faceted Dots (Online Store)
- Add sentiment, on Dimensionals, from Greetings for All Ephemera pack
