I was looking for a more masculine-colored card using the Wildflower Birthday DSP and saw this one that was also a fun fold! Score!! Terri Gaines shared this unique fold that I just had to try! Besides the Blueberry Bushel base, and Wildflower Birthday DSP, this also uses the now retired Countryside Corners Dies! Once the base is created, the decorating is on, and it goes really fast!
Measurements: :
- Blueberry Bushel: 1/2 sheet, 4" x 5 1/2" (Pop Up mechanism), 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" (Pop Up panel)
- Basic White: 2 3/4" x 4 3/8" (Pop Up panel layer) , 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" (inside front layer)
- Gold Foil: 1 1/4" x 5 1/8"
- Wildflower Birthday DSP (OE): 3" x 5 1/4" (Floral Blue Print), full birthday cake panel, die cuts
To Make This Card:
- Score Pop Up mechanism at 1" - 2" - 3". Make "mountain" folds, forming a tube/tower.
- Attach Tear n Tape, lengthwise, to both ends of the "mechanism".
- Fold "mechanism" in half, with adhesive strips out. Remove tape backing and place into folded Blueberry Bushel card base with cut edges of "mechanism" flush with the card fold.
- Check card by opening it up to see "tower/pop up" in the center.
- Next, adhere DSP to inside/back of card.
- Die cut shape (I used Countryside Corner Dies) for Pop Up, making sure it won't show when the card is closed.
- Run the larger White piece through a coordinating die, stamp sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink, if desired, and then emboss.
- Adhere to Pop Up base. Then, attach base to "mechanism".
- Die cut a smaller shape from the other White piece. Stamp sentiment in Blueberry Bushel in. Adhere to inside front layer. Add die cut decoration.
- For the front, add Gold Foil Strip, and then add Full Cake Panel. I did trim it a bit to measure 3 3/8" x 4 3/4". Add to front.
- Finish with scattered, retired Gilded Gold Gems and a Iridescent Stripe Bow.
