I know we are always thinking "Another Flower", but I really DO like this new flower bundle, Charming Day! It has very "clean" lines and is fun to color! This fold is "making the rounds"! I posted one earlier this summer using the Mixed Florals, and have several more using the 2-Tone Cardstock as the base! Perfect!! This one comes to us from Lisa Curcio. It is just gorgeous! We will be doing this one in my August Monthly Class!
Measurements: :
- Night of Navy: 1/4 sheet (base), 2 1/2" square (inside corner), 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" (inside center), scraps (opt. leaves)
- Basic White: 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" (label), 3 1/4" square (floral image)
- Berry Burst: scrap
- Bubble Bath: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" (base layer), 2 3/8" square (inside corner), scrap
- Lost Lagoon: scrap
- Floral Charm DSP (N): 6 3/4" x 8", 2 1/4" square
To Make This Card:
- To score the DSP piece, place the side that you want to show on top, face down.
- On the 6 3/4" side score @ 2 3/4". Rotate to the left and score @ 2 3/4". Fold on the score lines as shown.
- To make the "square", fold in the opposite direction, creating a diagonal through the spot where the score lines cross. As you do this, the score lines should line up. And this "origami" piece is done. (Kind of like a "squash" card.)
- Die Cut Label from the new Label Me Grateful Dies in White. Set aside.
- Stamp large "floral cluster" in Memento Black ink onto piece of White. Color with Blends as shown. Then, die cut with corresponding die.
- Next, die cut one of each of the "sprigs". Lisa (and so, I) used Night of Navy, but I think next time I would try Lost Lagoon!
- Take these 3 pieces and arrange onto White label. Adhere to only label!
- Select desired sentiment and stamp in Night of Navy onto open area.
- Adhere decorated label to front of card, attaching to ONLY the front square!
- Now, adhere all 3 squares for the inside corner. Attach to corner.
- Die cut the "rose" in Berry Burst cardstock.
- To create the light pink background, trace around the die cut "rose" with a pencil and then fussy cut with Paper Snips. Adhere together.
- Die cut small "sprig" from Lost Lagoon. Adhere to "rose", and then attach to corner square.
- It is important that the inside layers don't show when the card is closed! Lisa has figured that out for this sample! Adhere the 2 layers together, and stamp desired sentiment in Night of Navy ink.
- Finish with Charming Shimmer dots in Berry on the front, and Night of Navy inside.
