Filled with Sweetness meets Valentine Kisses

I am in LOVE with the Homemade Sweetness DSP!! Originally, I just bought the DSP and cute little embellishments! Because, most of the dies with the coordinating bundle don't cut out any of the images in the DSP.  I can fussy cut! (I did go back and get the bundle! I love it, now, too!) and, you will need to, for the most part! I saw a version of this card with the darling bear from the Valentine Kisses bundle, hugging the "honey jar"!  Rest is totally Homemade Sweetness DSP (oh, except for the sentiment). So, grab the DSP and your snips and get ready for some fun!

Measurements:

  • Strawberry Slush: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 2 3/4" x 4" (arch), 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" (tag), scrap (bear)
  • Homemade Sweetness DSP (N)(OE): 2 1/4" x 4" (Slush check), 3" x 4" (Slush Hearts), various jars cut from DSP
To Make This Card:
  • Add DSP layers to front of folded Strawberry Slush card base.
  • Attach strip of narrow Bubble Bath ribbon between the 2 DSP's.
  • Next, die cut arch from piece of White. Set aside.
  • Also, stamp sentiment in Black Ink onto scrap of White and die cut with largest banner in the Stylish Shapes dies. Also, set aside.
  • Now, stamp "hugging" bear in Black Ink. color in with Blends as shown, and die cut with corresponding die. (It DOES cut slits in in the bears' arms!)
  • Lastly, cut several different jars from the DSP.  I used 6 altogether, with the "honey pot" in the bears' arms!
  • Then, start with the "arch" on the front of the card, and "build" from there. You'll need to trim the "points" from the left side of the "banner", and makes sure the bear covers the end and the end doesn't hang off the card! Whew!
  • I added the bear to the "arch" with Dimensionals. Oh, be sure to add the "honey pot" in his arms, first.  It's much easier that way. (I speak from experience!)
  • Then, scatter the 5 remaining jars to the card.  I added mine with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with scattered Strawberry Slush Flat Pearls.

Valentine Kissing Booth

I found this cute sample by Debbie Henderson using the darling Valentine Kisses bundle in the Online Exclusives! It also uses the Made with Love DSP from the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog. The little hearts are from the Loose Valentine Assortment, too clever! We also made this sample at my Senior Center class.

Measurements:

  • Real Red: 1/2 sheet
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4", scraps
  • Bubble Bath: 2" x 2 1/2" (booth), scrap
  • Pecan Pie: 2 3/4" square
  • Made with Love DSP (N): 3 7/8" x 5 1/8", 1/2" x 5 1/8" strip
To Make This Card:
  • Begin by taking the DSP piece and cut it at 2 5/8" making 2 pieces.
  • Adhere to one White layer. The larger, dotty piece at the top and the hearts at the bottom.  There is only a 1/16" border.
  • Before adhering to the Real Red card base, run tape runner over strip of ribbon and adhere over where the 2 pieces of cardstock meet, wrapping the ends to the back.
  • Now, you can attach this piece to the folded Real Red card base.
  • Next, die cut the "kissing booth" from Bubble Bath cardstock. Place glue dots on the right side of the "supports" and then adhere to the "booth base".
  • Attach Dimensionals to the "booth" and adhere to card base about 1" from the right side, with "counter top" just below the ribbon.
  • Next, stamp large "bear" and "booth bear" in Early Espresso ink onto Pecan Pie cardstock. Cut out with corresponding dies.
  • Place "booth bear", flat inside the booth, and attach the "bear" near "booth", as shown, with Dimensionals.
  • Complete the card with the little "bouquet" stamped in Real Red ink onto Bubble Bath cardstock, little "plaque" in White with Real Red stamped hearts, and sentiment stamped in Real Red ink on strip of White.
  • Finish with 3 White hearts from the Loose Valentine Assortment.
  • Finish inside with White layer and strip of DSP.
