I'm lovin' the new Flowering Fields DSP! There are so many colors to choose from. I saw a sample using this color combination and knew I had to try it. I hadn't done a Faux Side Step card in a while, so I gave it a try. Love it!
Measurements:
- Mango Melody: 5 1/2" x 8" (base), 3" x 6" (step)
- Flowering Fields DSP (N): 3/4" x 5 1/8", 2 5/8" x 5 1/8", 1/2" x 5 1/4, " (tulip side), 2 3/4" x 3 7/8 (Flip side, print)
- Soft Succulent: 7/8" x 5 1/4", 2 3/4" x 5 1/4", 2 7/8" x 4"
- Basic White: 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
- Early Espresso: 1/4 sheet
- Gray Granite: 2 1/4" x 3"
- Adhesive sheet: 2 1/4" x 3"
To Make This Card:
- Score Mango Melody piece along 8" side at 3" - 6" - 7". Accordion fold as shown. Crease well with bone folder.
- Attach 7/8" x 5 1/4" Soft Succulent piece piece to "bottom". Skip an area, and attach larger piece to the next area. Add corresponding "tulip" pieces to layers. Set aside.
- Now, take the other Mango Melody piece (step) and score along 6" side at 4 1/4". Crease well. Attach corresponding Soft Succulent and DSP to the front of this piece.
- Turn this over and add Tear & Tape to the lower back edge of both the top and the bottom. (you are on the wrong side)
- Cut out "windmill base", "blades", "bicycle", and 2 "fence pieces" from Early Espresso.
- Attach adhesive sheet to back of Gray Granite piece. Cut out front, detail of "windmill". Remove backing and attach to Early Espresso "windmill base".
- Center & attach this base onto 3" piece, with bottom of "windmill" at bottom of DSP. Add "windmill blades" with Mini Glue Dot. Add "fence" pieces on either side.
- Attach "bicycle" to one side of small "step", leaving room for 3" piece.
- To attach the 3" "step", remove the Tear & Tape covering on the "step" piece and place even with the lower edge. Remove the other covering, fold the card into position, and attach to the back of card.
- To finish the card, place the White piece inside and attach the 1/2" strip to the bottom. Stamp sentiment in Evening Evergreen.
- Finish with center "bolt" and "bicycle wheel bolts" from the Classic Matte Dots.
