Here's the card I did yesterday on my video! It's all finished with a sentiment and a few fussy cut leaves. I wanted to use a set/DSP with a coordinating die to make a quick, tasteful card with only one layer of DSP. It works! Pick a theme and give it a go! Use what you have or, order what you need to make one of mine....more to come!!
Measurements:
- Poppy Parade: 1/2 Sheet
- Basic White: 2 pcs - 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
- Fine Art Floral DSP (N):4" x 5 1/4", die cut flowers
To Make This Card: (see video)
- Begin by making the corner "template". Take one of the Basic White pieces. Measure along the short side 2 3/4" and place a mark. Then, measure along the long side to 3 1/2" and make a mark. Draw a line with a pencil, connecting the 2 marks. Cut along this line. Save the triangle, and discard the rest of the piece. Use it for another card.
- Fold card base in half. Place "template" along upper left corner of card. Score along "pencil" line with Bone Folder. It should lightly transfer to the back side. Flip card front over and repeat for the back side. Now, carefully fold along score lines, inverting the corner to the inside of card.
- Take one of the other Basic White pieces. and lay inside the card, leaving an 1/8" border. Mark the score line and trim this piece. Trim approx 1/8" from the cut edge. Check for fit. Take the small corner you removed, and fit to the upper triangle. The inside layering is done!
- To layer the outside. Repeat with the DSP piece. Using the scored/folded edge as a guide to cut your layer. Always allowing for an 1/8" border!!
- Decorate front as desired. I used 3 large die cut flowers, a fussy cut cluster of buds, and some fussy cut leaves.
- I also stamped one of the messages on a strip of Basic White in Poppy Parade and cut it out with one of the neat rick-rack dies!
- Some will also place DSP on the upper, inside flap of card. Your choice!!
