Wildflower Birthday Shaker Flip Flap Card

I saw this card layout, but was looking for a shaker card using Flip Flaps, so I morphed this idea into one!  So, this is a "Becky Original"!  It combines a Book Binder card with a shaker card, made with a Flip Flap, used with our Wildflower Birthday DSP! Too much fun!

Measurements:

  • Pretty in Pink: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Basic White3" square (under Flip Flap); 4" square (inside)
  • Soft Sea Foam: 3 1/4" square
  • Wildflower Birthday DSP (OE): 1" x 4", 3" x 3" (pastel stripe); 4" square (pink gingham); square cupcake panel, cut from sheet
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Pretty in Pink card in half. Score at 4 1/4" - 5 1/2".  Crease well.
  • Attach Tear n Tape to "binding" area and adhere to the back of card.
  • Attach 1" DSP strip to "binding" area, along with "balloon" die cut.
  • Adhere Pink Gingham square to card front.
  • Slip "cupcake panel" into 3" x 3" Flip Flap.
  • Next, take the pastel stripe square and decorate with die cuts as shown. Flip, Flip Flap up and insert this into the back side of Flip Flap as well.
  • Now, add some shaker pieces to the inside of the Flip Flap, over the "cupcake panel". Seal with 1/8" Tear n Tape. Set aside.
  • Next, take White 3" square piece and stamp sentiment in Basic Gray an embellish.  Adhere to Soft Seafoam piece.
  • Lay this on top of Gingham layer, and mark top, lightly, with pencil.
  • Fold Flip Flap topper back, and into place.  Remove backing and place this fold along pencil mark, folding Flip Flap forward.
  • Now, add Sea Foam layer over the backing, so the piece is centered under the Flip Flap, allowing the Soft Sea Foam to show, as a border.
  • Finish the inside with large White square, and a die cut "banner".
  • Finish the outside with a Bubble Bath knot.

Sanded Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder

I was looking for other examples of sanded two-tone papers, and found this one! It utilizes the new Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder in the Online Store, which is part of the Impressions Abloom Bundle. It' s in Pretty in Pink and White.  I love the retired Flat Pearls for flower centers so I used a couple of those, oh, and those awesome sentiments from the Greetings for All ephemera pack!

Measurements:

  • Pretty in Pink: 1/2 sheet
  • Two-Tone Pretty in Pink: 3 1/2" x 4 1/2"
  • Basic White: 3 5/8" x 4 1/2", 4" x 5 1/4" (inside), quarter sheet (die cuts)
To Make this Card:
  • Run "medium" piece of White through new Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder. Adhere to folded Pretty in Pink card.
  • Die cut Two Tone Pretty in Pink  layer through oval from the Impressions Abloom dies.
  • Now, take the center from the Oval and run through the new Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder.
  • Next, lightly sand with sanding block to expose the White core.
  • Using Multipurpose Glue, adhere outside edge of oval to card front.
  • Then, add the sanded inside image.
  • Next, stamp 2 small and one large flower, from the Impressions Abloom stamp set,  in Pretty in Pink ink onto quarter sheet of White. Die cut with corresponding die.
  • Now, die cut one small flower, 2 "sets" of small flowers, and 2 "sprigs" from the rest of the White quarter sheet.
  • I added Wink of Stella to all of the larger flowers.
  • Arrange onto card front as shown, popping up the larger flower with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with retired large, flat pearls in the largeflower centers, along with a few scattered smaller pearls. I also added small Iridescent Pearls to the smaller flowers and a sentiment of your choice from the Greetings for All ephemera pack.

Double the Fun Sailboat Card

I did a screenshot of this lovely card, and then I couldn't remember how it was made! Well, I finally remembered!!  It was what I called a "Double the Fun" card - a combination of a Book Binder card and a "Z" Fold. It's actually a quick and easy card, that is just gorgeous!

Measurements:

  • Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 3 1/4" x 4 1/4", scrap
  • Thoughtful Journey DSP (OE): 1 6"x6" sheet desired scenic print
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Thick Basic White card base in half. Score front at 2 1/8" - 4 1/4". Crease well, creating a "book binding" fold and a "Z" fold.
  • Place Tear n Tape on the 1 1/4" area, near crease. Press together creating a Book Binding Fun Fold.
  • Take your 6" x 6" pc of "scenic print" and trim so it measures 5 3/8" wide, choosing the best scenery, and removing what you can do without, so it measure 5 3/8" x 6"!
  • Next, we'll cut across the piece.  The first cut is @ 1". (This goes on the "book binding" piece).
  • Then, cut an arch from the next part of the DSP, using the arch that will fit from top to bottom.
  • Lastly, straighten the edge from the arch cut for the last piece.
  • Adhere the first piece to the "book binding".
  • Stamp the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink onto the arched piece.  Then, adhere arch to other White layer.
  • Next, adhere last DSP strip to inside of card.  You may want to trim this a little narrower.
  • Place Tear n Tape on the "Z" part of the card, along the fold, and along the cut edge.
  • Center the piece with the arch in place, with even amounts of DSP showing at either end. Press into place.
  • Die cut a "sailboat" from a white scrap.  Adhere to the front of the arch.
  • Finish by stamping sentiment on the inside.
  • Finish outside with Wink of Stella in the "water", and scattered Brass Birds.

Wildflower Birthday Lattice Card

Here's another lattice idea, this time using the Wildflower Birthday Die cuts. I also played with a less "bulky" lattice window configuration with the card front.  I like how this one turned out much better than the Pretty Peacock one I posted about a week ago! Less bulk, cleaner results!  Such a new layout!

Measurements:

  • Pretty in Pink: 4" x 11"
  • Bubble Bath: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (base); 3 3/4" x 5" (inside)
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Pretty in Pink piece in half. Die cut rectangle opening approx 1 3/4" from the fold,  in the front of the card with the "lattice" die. The die is the full width of the cardstock, You'll end up with a chopped up card front, lattice piece, and a scrap. Keep all pieces
  • Place 1/8" Tear n Tape along the newly cut, front edge. Attach one long side of the "lattice" piece.
  • Repeat for the other end as well, using remaining bottom piece (scrap)
  • At this point, this piece is too long. Measure so card front measures 5 1/4". You'll remove approx.1/4" from the bottom of the folded card, both edges at the same time.
  • Now, mount onto Bubble Bath Base, and insert smaller Bubble Bath piece on the inside.
  • Select die cut of your choice for the front.
  • Slip a Silicone mat inside and, using Multipurpose Glue, adhere die cut over the "lattice" and hopefully securing to both the top and bottom of the card.  (Note: the cake that I used did not have a candle at the top, so I cut one from one of the many cupcake die cuts on the sheet of options.)
  • Finish with a sentiment stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink, and scattered Sparkle Gems.  I also added a couple of die cuts to the inside.
