New Beauty of Friendship Tree

This card is one of the cards that we made at our retreat this weekend! It uses the Beauty of Friendship Bundle and the interesting Beauty of the Earth DSP.  I say interesting because a few of the papers look rather "blotchy", which makes for some awesome die cut "leaves".

Measurements:

  • Misty Moonlight: 1/2 sheet, 3/4" x 2 3/4"
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 1 3/4" x 2 3/4", scrap
  • Beauty of the 'Earth DSP (N): 4" 3 3/4" square (sky), 2" x 3 7/8" (wood grain), 1 3/4" square (tree leaves)
  • Early Espresso: 2 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  • Bumblebee: scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Run Basic White piece through Tasteful Textile EF.  Attach to folded Misty Moonlight card. Also attach "sky" DSP to upper half of card.
  • Punch the inside point of the Taylored Tag at the bottom of the "wood grain" strip, creating a "banner" edge.  Stamp "tree" in Early Espresso Ink onto small White piece. Assemble all on Early Espresso piece.
  • Wrap Natural Bakers Twine 3 times around bottom of this piece, as shown, and tie in a bow.  Attach to card.
  • Stamp words in Early Espresso (or Misty Moonlight) onto scrap of White.  Cut out with die from Beauty of Trees dies. Mount onto strip of Misty Moonlight.  Attach to card as shown.
  • Die cut the "tree" shape from Tree Paper, Then cut, again, from "detail" tree. (This will be larger than the DSP piece.  Adhere to tree over "branches".
  • Finish by cutting 2 "birds" from Bumblebee. (both cut at the same time!  cool, huh!)  Attach to card as shown. Add an "eye" with pen, if desired.
