Color & Contour Blends & Alcohol Marbling

So, I saved this one for last, since it is my Shoebox Swap for the retreat I am attending in the Ozarks! The participants will actually have the opportunity to TRY this technique, and then make a card with it!  It uses the Scalloped Contour dies AND the Color & Contour stamps - that I didn't purchase with the bundle, but went back and added it later.  Boy, am I glad I did!  This stamp set is AWESOME!!

Measurements:

  • Polished Pink (N): 1/2 sheet
  • Vellum: 1/4 sheet
  • Highland Heather: 2 3/4" x 4"
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 2 3/4" x 4"
To Make This Card:

  • Take the 2 (or more) Darkest Blends, and randomly color all over the vellum. I place it on my silicone sheet! Now, take a paint brush or Aqua Painter or Water Brush and dab the 91% Alcohol on top of the blends.  Allowing the colors to bleed.  Set aside to dry, or dry with a heat tool.  Note: I find it curls more if allowed to dry naturally.
  • Cut Stitched Scallop from Basic White.  Stamp 1 flower in Basic Gray, it just fits!. Stamp the "color" in stamped off Polished Pink, or for darker color, stamp full strength.  I colored in the "leaves" with the Lt Soft Succulent Blend. Adhere to Highland Heather piece.
  • Now, trim Vellum piece to 4" x 5 1/4", trimming away any edges where the ink may have pooled. And attach to Basic White piece with Multipurpose Glue.
  • Attach "marble" piece to folded Polished Pink card.   Add the Highland Heather rectangle to the card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with Wink of Stella in the center of the "flowers". and a bow in Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon.
