Mom and I had fun yesterday learning how to do this popular technique, that I call, Blends & Alcohol Marbling. It's done using Vellum, Blends, and 91% or greater Rubbing Alcohol. This card uses the New Dark Pale Papaya and Dark Calypso Coral Blends, along with the Daisy from the Color & Contour Bundle. I originally only bought the gorgeous dies of this Bundle, but went back and got the stamps first. Will do a video on this technique, hopefully, tomorrow!!
Measurements:
- Pale Papaya (N): 1/2 sheet
- Vellum: 1/4 sheet
- Calypso Coral: 2 3/4" x 4"
- Basic White: 2 3/4" x 4"
To Make This Card:
- Take the 2 (or more) Darkest Blends, and randomly color all over the vellum. I place it on my silicone sheet! Now, take a paint brush or Aqua Painter or Water Brush and dab the 91% Alcohol on top of the blends. Allowing the colors to bleed. Set aside to dry, or dry with a heat tool. Note: I find it curls more if allowed to dry naturally.
- Cut Stitched Scallop from Basic White. Stamp 3 "daisies" in Basic Gray, so they go off the edges. Stamp the "base flower" in Pale Papaya. Color the centers in Dk Calypso Coral Blend.
- Add "leaves" in Basic Gray. Color in with "Soft Succulent". Attach to rectangle of Calypso Coral.
- Now, trim Vellum piece to 4" x 5 1/4", trimming away any edges where the ink may have pooled.
- Attach "marble" piece to folded Papaya card with Multipurpose Glue. Add the Calypso Rectangle to the card with Dimensionals.
- Finish with Wink of Stella in the center of the "flowers". and a bow in Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon.
