Rainbow Book Binder Card

This card is a bit of a throwback, as it uses the retired Rainbow Dies and Sunshine & Rainbows SAB 6x6 DSP. Mom & I designed this for our class Monday at Garner.  I really love it!  I'm thinking I need to make a few more!

Measurements:

  • Bermuda Bay: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Basic White: 3 1/4" square (outside), 4" square (inside), scrap
  • Sunshine & Rainbows SAB DSP (ret): 4" square (stripe), 1" x 4" (print), rainbow
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Bermuda Bay card in half.  Score FRONT 1 1/4" from crease. Fold back.
  • Place Tear n Tape along this 1 1/4" aread and adhere to back of card.
  • Attach large White square to inside.
  • Attach Stripe DSP to front of card, and print strip to "binding".
  • Fussy cut one "rainbow" from DSP.
  • Die cut 2 clouds from Brilliant Rainbow Dies (ret).
  • Assemble "rainbow" onto smaller square. The "clouds" are on Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy below "rainbow".
  • Attach this layer to card front.
  • Finish with a wrapped knot around "binding" as shown and scattered Polished Dots.

Clean & Simple "Love It, Chop It" DSP Card

I received this card design at my Demo meeting a week ago, from friend and fellow demonstrator, Tracy Fazzio!  I thought it would be PERFECT for my card class at the Care Center! So, grab your favorite DSP, (preferably one with 2 nicely corresponding sides) and a trimmer and give this a try! Kyle Bertucci, demonstrator from Australia, has labeled this type of card a "love it chop it" card. (For those of us that have trouble chopping up that GORGEOUS DSP!)  So, stay tuned for more "Love It, Chop It" inspiration!!  Thanks for sharing, Tracy!!

My version:

Tracy's Inspiration:

Measurements:

  • Bermuda Bay: 1/2 sheet
  • Sunshine & Rainbows DSP ( SAB): 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (mine),                                       1 pc 4" x 5 1/4" (Tracy's)
  • Basic White:  4" x 5 1/4" (inside), scrap
To Make This Card:

  • For my version, begin by attaching one DSP to folded Bermuda Bay card.
  • Now, use your Paper Trimmer to cut the DSP diagonally. Turn DSP, with cut edges matching (try lightly taping on the wrong side with removable tape) and cut diagonally from the other points. You will need to do this for either version.
  • For my version: select 2 opposing pieces and attach to card front over DSP. Toss the other 2, or use them for another card!
  • Stamp sentment onto scrap of white. Punch out with Everyday Label Punch.  Attach to card front over "criss-cross" with Dimensionals.
  • Add White quarter to inside.  Stamp sentiment in Bermuda Bay.
  • Finish with coordinating bow.
         For Tracy's version:
  • You will use the DSP layer as your front.
  • Fold the base. Take the diagonal cut DSP and rearrange onto card front, flipping and fitting the pieces together like a puzzle!  Pretty cool, huh.  Tracy's DSP was really nice on both sides, so this way worked great for hers!
  • Finish her version, as I did mine!

Party Hearty Otter #2

I loved the results of my last Party Otter card so much, I decided to try another version! This one still uses the cheerful Sunshine & Rainbows DSP that is free with a qualifying $50 SAB order, but this time I used the rectangles from the Picture This Dies! I also still used the stitched circles from the Give It a Whirl dies! Add a little ribbon, and wahlah, you have a same, but different card!!

Measurements:

  • Pool Party: 1/2 sheet,  2 1/4" square
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", 2" square, scrap
  • Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (SAB) (N): 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" (stripe)
To Make This Card:

  • Cut rectangle "Picture This" die from both the DSP and White papers.  Set the rectangle pieces aside,as well as the DSP "frame".
  • Insert the DSP pieces into the White frame, flipping over the center one, to use the pattern on the other side.  Tape into place with Scotch Tape.
  • Wrap ribbon around this piece and tie bow so it ends up on the left side.
  • Mount this piece onto folded Pool Party Card with Dimensionals.
  • Cut 2 stitched scalloped circles from die Give It a Whirl dies, one in White and one in Pool Party.  Discard the Pool Party circle, and the White scalloped circle, the remaining 2 pieces will make one complete stitched, scalloped circle!
  • Stamp "otter" onto White circle.  Color in with Blends as shown. Insert into stitched scallop circle.  I scotch taped it to the back, creating one piece.
  • Mount onto card with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp "party hat" onto scrap of white, color with Blends as shown and fussy cut. Add to "otter".
