Corner Fold Mixed Floral Card

I'm always on the lookout for creative, fun folds and I spotted this one.  I did something like this A LONG time ago, but then "everything old is new, again"! This one comes thanks to Kathy Alt. It's really fun and easy, just takes almost a full sheet of DSP, which is where our free SAB DSP's come in! Anyway, the colors and DSP are just cheery and it really is quite easy to make!

Measurements:

  • Blueberry Bushel: 1/4 sheet, 3 3/8" x 4 5/8" (outside layer), 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" (inside layer) 2 1/2" square (corner)
  • Basic White: 3 3/8" x 4 5/8" (inside), 3 1/8" x 4 3/8" (outside), 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" (floral image)
  • Bloom Impressions DSP (ret): 6 3/4" x 8", 2 1/4" square
To Make This Card:

  • To score the DSP piece, place the side that you want to shop on top, face down.
  • On the 6 3/4" side score @ 2 3/4" (See Kathy's diagram, above). Rotate to the left and score @ 2 3/4". Fold on the score lines as shown.
  • To make the "square", fold in the opposite direction, creating a diagonal through the spot where the score ines cross.  As you do this, the score lines should line up.  And this "origami" piece is done.  (Kind of like a "squash" card.)
  • For the inside of the card, adhere the 2 "inside" pieces together.  Stamp sentiment on the White layer in Blueberry Bushel ink.
  • Layer the 2 square pieces together, and place on the inside square for "support" as shown.
  • Next, stamp and color the "flower" with Blends.  Die cut with corresponding die.. I also added a little Wink of Stella to all the flowers!
  • Layer the outside 2 layers together, and then add the "flower" to the front with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Blueberry Bushel in.
  • Finish with new, scattered 2024 Flat Pearls, and a bow of Shy Shamrock ribbon.
  • Now, you can add the front layers to the card base! ONLY the upper left corner of this piece is adhered to the "square" of the DSP.  Center these layers on the front, and adhere to the square only.
  • It should look like the 2nd picture when opened!

Peach & Gingham Mixed Floral

This card has been on my table to create for a long time!  I finally sat down today to try it, and I just love it! Awesome color combination of Pool Party and Peach Pie! Actually, pretty easy and fast to create!

Measurements:

  • Peach Pie: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4" (1 inside, 1 outside), 3 5/8" x 4 3/4" (arch), 2 3/4" x 4 1/2" (flower image), scraps
  • Floral & Gingham Vellum (OE): 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"; 3/4" x 4" (inside) (pool party gingham)
To Make this Card:
  • Adhere one White piece to front of folded Peach Pie card base, and the other White piece to the inside.  Adhere the small, vellum piece to the bottom of the inside of card as well.
  • Die cut 3rd from largest arch from piece of White.  Stamp sentiment in Memento Black onto arch. Set aside.
  • Stamp "flower" and "sprig" in Memento Black onto pieces of White. Color with Blends as shown, then die cut with corresponding die.
  • Add "sprig" to inside.
  • Adhere flower to front of arch, with Dimensionals, as shown, with some of the flowers off the arch, and trimming a little off the stems at the bottom.
  • Wrap 10" of Peach Pie ribbon around arch and tie in a knot.
  • Now, add the "arch", blush, to the Gingham Vellum.
  • Then, add the vellum to the front of card, placing adhesive behind arch, with corners free.
  • Finish with scattered Pool Party Rainbow Dots and Wink of Stella on the "flowers".
