Gilded Butterfly

I sat down this weekend to play with our Gilded Leafing. While I mostly just played and experiemented, I DID complete one card, and I love it! I was working at my Mom's and forgot my Heat n Stick, so I was limited by what I had on hand! I think it worked pretty well!

Measurements:

Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
Butterfly Bijou DSP (N): 1 Die Cut Butterfly

To Make This Card:

Run Basic White trimmed quarter through Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder. Attach to folded Basic White card.
Now, to the "Gilding"! I started with the "band" of gold. Place a strip of Tear & Tape on your card where desired. Remove top protective covering. Add leafing to Tape. Then, brush and burnish with a sponge. This creates an interesting effect, as the Embossing Fold comes through the tape. Really neat.
For the "butterfly", I used a 2-way glue pen and highlighted the black, details on the butterfly. I let get a little sticky and then put on the Gilded Leafing and brushed and burnished with a sponge. Just gorgeous! Shape the Wings a little with the Bone Folder and attach to card with rolled Mini Glue Dots.
For the pearl embellishments, I took a sponge and Multipurpose Glue and added glue to the pearls. I let it get tacky and then added the leafing. They are gorgeous, but a little messy to do.
And, lastly, when I got home, I used my Heat n Stick Powder to Gild the sentiment. Stamp the sentiment in VersaMark. Add the Heart n Stick Powder, and just barely heat. (Note: In the past, we heated it from underneath!) Add the leafing, and brush off as before. I die cut around the sentiment. It was too big for my space, so I trimmed the Ornate Frame "tag". I attached it, flat to my card.
Finish with cleaned pearls, or whatever embellisment you like.

Forever Greenery Meets Butterfly Brilliance

I saw a version of this card and loved the colors!! Interesting DSP combination. The colors and details are my own. Notice how I stamped ONE butterfly on the Butterfly Bijou DSP and then cut it out!

Measurements:

Bermuda Bay: 1/2 sheet
Forever Greenery DSP: 2 3/4" x 4"
Butterfly Bijou DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (Bermuda Print), 2 1/4" x 3" (Bermuda Splash)
Basic White: 2 1/4" square
Pretty Peacock: 3" x 4 1/4", 2 3/8" square

To Make This Card:

Attach Bermuda Bay Print to folded Bermuda Bay card.
Attach Forever Greenery DSPd to Pretty Peacock piece. Wrap reversable Pretty Peacock ribbon around this piece and attach to back. Adhere to card.
Stamp chosen Butterfly in Peacock ink onto "Bermuda Splash" DSP. Cut out with corresponding die.
Stamp sentiment in Bermuda Bay onto piece of White. Cut out with Stitched Circle. Adhere to Pretty Peacock circle. and mount onto card with Dimensionals.
Shape Butterfly wings, and attach to card with rolled Mini Glue Dots and.or Mini Dimensionals.
Finish with Holiday Rhinestones where desired.

Welcoming Window with Curtains

I am always drawn to detailed stamp sets, like windows, doors, stairs, etc. So, I just HAD to get this bundle even if it was just for me! I finally got to play with it today! So much fun, and so many possibilities. It is my version of a card I saw online. Love the use of the Messages dies for the sentiment labels!!

Measurements:

Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 3 3/4" x 5", 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" scraps
Crumb Cake: 4" x 5 1/4", 2"
Early Espresso: scraps
Garden Green: scrap
Plaid Tidings DSP (ret): scrap

To Make This Card

Run Basic White piece through Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Layer onto Crumb Cake piece, and then onto folded Basic White card.
Die cut "Window Frame" and "Shutters" from Crumb Cake. Cut "Window Sill" and "Hinges" from Early Espresso. Cut bottom of "curtain" with border die from the Ornate Borders Dies.
Adhere the "curtain" behind the "window frame". Add solid piece of white to the back and trim. Tape this to the "Window Sill" with scotch or washi tape.
Decide window placement, by starting with Left "Shutter", then "window", then final "Shutter".
Stamp "greenery #1" in Garden Green onto scrap of White. Place this piece on the Stamparatus and line up "flowers". Ink up with Poppy Parade ink, and stamp into holes left for the flowers! Color "centers" with Dk. Mango Melody Blend. Cut out with Corresponding die. Attach to "Window Sill with Dimensionals".
Cut Garden Green "tag" from Messages dies. Stamp sentiment onto scrap of White in Poppy Parade ink. Center under "tag" from Message dies, and cut. Attach Green piece flat onto card, and pop the White layer to label with Dimensionals.

Butterfly Bouquet meets Simply Succlent

As usual, this picture doesn't do this card justice! The lovely Potted Succlent Die is cut from our new Natural Touch Specialty Paper - available starting tomorrow, while supplies last! It has been adhered to a beautiful watercolor piece of the Butterfly Bijou DSP. Add 2 die cut butterflies and sentiment, and you have a quick, but gorgeous card! As I like to say, a "Plop and Drop" card!

Measurements:

Calypso Coral: 1/2 sheet
Butterfly Bijou DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (watercolor), 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" (coral dots), 2 die cut butterflies
Natural Touch Specialty Paper (N): 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Very Vanilla: scrap

To Make This Card

Fold Calypso Coral card half.
Cut " openwork succulents" from Natural Touch paper. This will be a tight fit, so cut carefully. Attach to "watercolor" DSP (I used Multipurpose glue & sponge) and trim DSP, if necessary. Attach to folded card.
Stamp sentiment in Memento Black. Punch out with Double Oval Punch. Attach to scalloped punch of DSP, also from Double Oval Punch. Attach this, flat, to lower right corner.
Die cut 2 butterflies, shape with Bone Folder, and attach to card with rolled Mini Glue Dots under body.
