Fold-Back Pop Up Counting Sheep + Video

Dawn Griffith is the queen of folds, with awesome videos to go along with them!  I lifted this one directly from her!  It's so much fun!  It uses the new Incolor - Polished Pink - and the SAB Counting Sheep stamps and Sheep Dies. I have since made 2 more samples with this Fun Fold, and decided to make a video to accompany it below!  So, have fun, and enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Polished Pink (N):1/2 sheet, 2 pcs @ 2 3/4" square, 2 pcs @ 2 1/2" square, 2 pcs @ 1 3/4" square
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 2 1/2" square, 2 pcs @ 2 1/4" square, 2 pcs @ 1 1/2" square, 2" strip for sheep
  • 2021-2023 InColor DSP (N): 3 pcs @ 1 7/8" x 5 1/4", 1 @ 2" square
  • Soft Suede: 1 1/2" x3"
To Make This Card:

  • Score at Polished Pink base at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4". Crease well to create a "Z" fold card.
  • Attach the 3 DSP strips to card base. One on the front fold, one on the inside of the Z fold, and one on the inside/base near the fold.
  • Take the 2" DSP square (this could be a coordinating piece, or the flip side to what you've already adhered) and cut in half diagonally.  Adhere 2 "triangle" to each outer corner of the inside of card, as shown.
  • Adhere one, white 1/2" square to one of the 2 3/4" Polished Pink squares.  Adhere to inside card as shown.
  • Take the other 2 3/4" Polished Pink square and score it in half, diagonally. Crease well, and trim off the "tip" of one side, leaving an approx 3/4"  extension.
  • Now, apply strong adhesive to this extension.  Line up the cut edge to the fold of the wrong side of the Z fold (see pix) and adhere.
  • Cut remaining 2 1/2" square in half, diagonally. Take time, now, to stamp sentiment while the piece is laying flat. Adhere one half to Pop Up, and toss the other, or save for another card!
  • Layer the 2 smaller white squares onto the 2 smaller Polished Pink squares.  Mount to card front, top and bottom, on point, as shown
  • Let's stamp and finish the rest of the pieces to finish this card! Stamp 1 each of the 3 "sheep" in Memento Black and cut out with corresponding dies. Add a little color with Blends.
  • Cut out 1 "balloon" from Polished Pink, and the "fence" from Soft Suede.
  • Using Mini Dimensionals, add "fence" to the inside of the card. Add the jumping sheep to fence with Dimensionals as well.
  • Finish by adding the remaining 2 sheep to the front diamonds with Dimensionals and the "balloon" with a Dimensional as well.

Counting Sheep Monochromatic

Love these little sheep and dies!  I used a layout from a Fun Fold version to create the front of this card!!  Changed the color and layout, and this is what I came up with!

Measurements:

  • Just Jade: 1/2 sheet, 2 3/4" square
  • 2020-2022 InColor DSP (N): 1 7/8" x 5 1/4", 2" square
  • Basic White: 2 1/2" square, 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" (sheep)
  • Soft Suede: 1 1/2" x 3"
  • So Saffron: scrap
To Make this Card:

  • Attach strip of DSP to folded Just Jade card.
  • Take 2" square of DSP (preferably a different pattern) and cut in half, diagonally.  Adhere one piece to each corner as shown.
  • Attach white square to Just Jade square.  Adhere to card front as shown.
  • Stamp "jumping sheep" in Memento Black ink.  Cut out with corresponding die.  Color areas as shown with Lt Smoky Slate.  Set aside.
  • Cut "fence" from Soft Suede, and small balloon from So Saffron.
  • Attach "fence" to card with Mini Dimensionals.
  • Add "sheep" with Dimensionals. Now stamp sentiment onto White piece.
  • Add Balloon with Dimensional.

Counting Sheep Tulle Shaker Card

I'm sure many of you have tried making a shaker card, but have you ever tried a TULLE Shaker Card? I was looking for ideas for the darling SAB set, Counting Sheep, and discovered this idea! I love that it uses so many of the Sheep dies.  It has so much dimension!!  Totally fun.  Thanks to Mom for cutting out all the pieces.  Makes the assembly go a lot faster!!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 4" x 5 1/4", scraps for sheep/clouds
  • Crumb Cake: 1 1/2" x 3"
  • Daffodil Delight: scrap
To Make This Card:

  • Select circle die that is a little smaller that the width of your tulle (netting). Temporarily adhere the White layer on top of front of folded White card. Cut chosen circle through both layers.  Separate these pieces, and toss the circles (or use them for pieces, if they fit).
  • Take the folded card and place adhesive entirely around the circle opening.  Attach square of Tulle and add more adhesive over tulle and round opening.
  • Add desired amount of "shaker" material on top of the tulle. I used our new Shaker Shapes!
  • Now, take the White layer and place adhesive on wrong side around the circle opening and around outside edges of card.  Line up circles and adhere...and your shaker component is done!!
  • Stamp 3 "sheep" onto scraps of White cardstock. Cut out with corresponding dies and color as shown. Add color, where desired.
  • Also die cut a Daffodil "sun", 2 "clouds", and a Crumb Cake "fence".
  • Set the "walking sheep" aside, and arrange the rest of the pieces on the front of the card, as desired. I DID pop up the sheep.
  • Now, open the card, and pop up the remaining "sheep" in the "window".  I decided to add the Birthday sentiment to the inside instead of cramming it onto the front.
  • And, voila, your card is done!
