Book Binding Card with a Twist + Video

I have only ever seen one sample that changes the direction of the Book Binding orientation. (I guess that's what you'd call it!) So, of course, I had to give it a go. This is an "original" design, and I LOVE it! It is so much prettier in person!

Measurements:

Basic Gray: 1/2 sheet
Basic White: 3" x 5 1/4"
Peaceful Place DSP (N): 4" x 5 1/4" (white & silver tree border)(will selectively trim), 7/8" x 5 1/4" (snowflakes)
Silver Foil: 2 1/4" x 3 3/4"

To Make This Card:

Fold Soft Succulent card base in half. Score at 1" rom fold, front side only. Crease the front back well. Place adhesive under this 1 1/4" and glue front and back together.
Attach "snowflakes "DSP strip to this.
Emboss "sketchy tree" from the Whimsical Trees in silver embossing powder onto silver foil. This technique is absolutely gorgeous!! Cut out with corresponding die.
Determine where you would like to place your trees on the "tree border" DSP piece that you've cut. Trim this piece so it measures 3"
Attach DSP to card front. Stamp sentiment in Black along white "border".
Attach "tree" to front with Dimensionals.
Add a White Glitter bow to the top of the tree.
Decorate the tree with Rhinestones.
Finish by cutting 2 "tall, skinny" trees from Silver Foil, and adding them to the inside of your card.

Simple Accordion Fold

I'm sure that most of you have a few demonstrators that "speak" to you, or you follow. One of those, for me, is one of my downline, Susie Wood. She LOVES folds as much as I do, and she has a style that is similar to mine. Susie shared this on her blog, and I fell in love with the simple design, fold, just everything! I'm sure many of you have DSP laying around in your stash. This is an awesome way to use it! You need to give this one a try!

Measurements:

Basic White: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", 2 3/4" x 4 3/4", 3" square
Sahara Sand: 4" x 5 1/4", 3 3/4" square
Peaceful Prints (SAB) (ret): 5" x 11 1/2"

To Make This Card:

Attach Sahara Sand layer to White base.
Score DSP piece at 1 3/4" - 4 3/4" - 7 3/4". If your DSP has a directional print (such as these deer), pay attention as to where you begin your scoring. (My first attemp my deer ended up upsidedown!!)
Accordion fold along all score lines. Pretty cool how this layers!!
Attach this piece to the base pieces.
Add the White piece to the inside as shown.
Use the Hippo & Friends dies to cut out the labels used. The largest is cut from Sahara Sand. The middle one is cut from Basic White, after you stamp a sentiment in Sahara Sand ink. Layer together
Attach left half to front piece.
Finish by stamping a sentiment inside in Sahara Sand, and embellishing with some scattered pearls. Oh, also a knot of White Glittery Organdy Ribbon

Whimsy & Wonder Pop Out Card

I saw this card and fell in love, both with the colors and the fold, which I had never seen before! It's called a Pop Out card! Mine is actually made with Soft Succulent, not the intended Mint Macaron. Hmm, how did that color get in the wrong folder?? Anyway, the Poinsettia Petals set does have some nice holly in it, but I really liked the holly from the retired Christmas Gleaming stamp set! So, use whatever YOU have for the holly!! We WILL be doing this fold in my next FUN FOLD class the 4th week of Octomber.

Measurements:

Mint Macaron (Soft Succulent): 4 1/4" x 9", 3" x 5 1/2"
Silver Foil (N): 2 1/2" x 3 1/8"
Basic White: 2 1/4" x 2 7/8", scrap
Whimsy & Wonder DSP (N): 4" x 4 1/4", 3/4" x 4"

To Make This Card:

Score 9" piece at 5 1/2" - 6 1/2" - 7 1/2" - 8 1/2".
Crease along all score lines creating a "box". Place Tear n Tape along 1/2" area. Lay this piece flat onto back of card, so this will go flat into an envelope.
Attach DSP to the back.
Score 5 1/2" piece at 4" - 5". Place tear n tape along 1/2" area. Fold both areas back. Line up second score line to the cut edge and adhere Tape to card.
While laying flat, attach other end to "box". Now, you can add DSP strip.
Stamp "holly" onto scrap of White. Color with Blends and fussy cut out. Add Wink of Stella, if desired.
Stamp sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals in Black onto White piece. Attach to Silver Foil, then to card front.
Finish by attach "holly" to front and scattring a few clear Rhinestones.

Whimsy Ornament Z Fold

Mom and I spent Sunday creating cards, particularly with the Whimsy & Wonder DSP. We wanted to try to use most of the DSP in the paper pack! This is the creation we came up with using the "ornament" DSP. The main color is Polished Pink teamed up with Misty Moonlight. All in the DSP color collection! This is so much prettier in person! Glitz and Bling!!

Measurements:

Polished Pink: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE
Basic White: 3" x 4 1/4"
Misty Moonlight: 3 1/4" x 4 1/2"
2021-23 In Color Asst (N): 4" x 5 1/4"
Whimsy & Wonder DSP (N): 2 1/2" x 4" (stripe), 3" x 4 1/4" (ornaments), scrap
Silver Foil (N): 2 3/4" x 4"

To Make This Card:

Fold Polished Pink card base in half, then fold front back on itself, creating a Z Fold.
Attach Polished Pink DSP inside card.
Attach Hologram "Stripe" to front flap.
Attach "Ornaments" to Misty Moonlight layer. Attach 1/2 of this to card front.
Cut Stitched Scallop from Scalloped Contour dies. Create "frame" by adding Stitched Rectangle to the inside as you cut from Silver Foil.
Attach this rectangle to "Ornament" layer.
Now, fussy cut one of the larger ornaments of your choice. Add this inside the "frame" with Dimensionals.
Attach White layer to inside behind Misty Moonlight. Fussy cut another "ornament" and attach to inside.
Finish with Polished Pink Open Weave Bow.
