I love this simple, elegant card using the Merrist Frames Hybrid embossing folder, and sentiment from For Unto Us. I love this unique color, too, paired with the softer Shimmery White.

Measurements:

  • Pacific Point: 1/2 sheet, 2 1/2" x 3 1/4"
  • Shimmery White: 1/4 sheet
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Pacific Point card in half.  Run front layer through Wintry Snow embossing folder.
  • Emboss Merriest Frame onto Shimmery White.  Cut out with "detailed" die.  Mount to card with Dimensionals.
  • Emboss sentiment in White Embossing powder onto piece of Pacific Point.  Cut out with included stitched rectangle die.  Adhere, flush, to White frame.
  • Finish with scattered pearls.

Snowman Season Bay Window Card

I am teaching art today, so not time to load my newest creation that I wanted to share.  Still have a few waiting in queue, so am sharing my first Bay Window card with you today!  Stay tuned!!

I have been wanting to try a Bay Window card, but just haven't gotten around to it!  Lisa Curcio had a nice video, and ideas, on this style of card.  This is a take on her sample.  I love the little snowman, and you get to use them all!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 4 1/4" x 11", 1 1/2" square (sentiment), 3" x 4" (inside). 2 pcs @ 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" (snowbank), 1 pc @ 1 1/2" square (snowbank), scraps (snowmen)
  • Real Red: 1 5/8" square
  • Heartwarming Hugs DSP: 2 pcs @ 1 1/4" x 4", 1 pc @ 1 1/2" x 4" (outside), 1 7/8" x 4" (inside)

To Make This Card
  • Score White base at 3/8" - 1 7/8" - 3 5/8" - 5 1/8" - 5 1/2".  Fold card in half. Beginning at the outside cut edge, fold 3/8" score line up ("valley"), the next 2 crease as ("mountains"), and the last little bit fold up ("valley").  Or, look a pix above. Crease well.
  • Adhere DSP to corresponding outside 3 panels. We'll do the inside last.
  • Tear the 3 "snowbanks" creating a jagged edge.  Add Wink of Stella to the torn edge, if desired. Attach to corresponding panels along the bottom edge, leaving a little space to tuck in "snowmen".  I popped up the center one with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the largest "snowman" in black.  Color in as desired.  Punch out with corresponding punch.
  • Stamp hat, and other 2 "snowmen". Color in as desired.  Fussy cut this out.  I eliminated the extra stufff around them, to make it simple!
  • Add Wink of Stella to these, also, if desired.
  • Tuck the larger "snowman" into the center "snowmank" and adhere to card.
  • Tuck and adhere the other 2 "snowmen" in the same way.
  • Now for the inside.  First, you need to attach the 3/8" section over by the fold to the card, like a book binder card.  I used 1/4" Tear Tape for this!
  • Next, add DSP to inside of card, near the outside, leaving a 1/8" border.  Attach the inside White piece, butting it up next the DSP.  Stamp "snowflakes" in Balmy Blue
  • Stamp sentiment in Black onto small White Square.  Adhere it to the Real Red square.
  • Place Dimensionals on Right side of this piece. Attach this to the inside of the card, flush with the DSP.  This is the piece that holds the "window" up when open.  Kind of like a standing easel card.

Little Cherub in Gilded Spruce

I decided to take a brief break from Bay Window cards, and share a card from a guest designer...my Mom! She created this gorgeous card using the darling little angel in the Angels of Peace stamp set!  All her supplies ARE from Stampin' Up!, however the beautiful oval dies are not. They are from Gina Marie Designs, but you can use whatever dies you have to create this card. It's the inspiration that counts!!  Enjoy!

Measurements:

  • Very Vanilla: 1/2 sheet, 1 3/4" x 2 3/4" (angel)
  • Expressions in Ink DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Gold Foil: 3 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • Gold Specialty Paper: 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
To Make This Card:
  • Attach "veined" Shaded Spruce DSP to folded Vanilla Card.
  • Stamp and emboss little "angel" in gold embossing powder.  Fussy cut her out and set aside.
  • Cut largest oval from Gold Foil, cut another size from 6x6 Gold Specialty Paper. Layer together with Dimensionals, then attach to card front.
  • Add little "cherub" to ovals with Dimensionals.
  • FInish with scattered Gilded Gems.

Peaceful Place DSP Bay Window Fold (white & black)

Here is another Bay Window card that I created using just a DSP border! This one uses one of the 4 panels on this piece of DSP. All you do is trim the 6x6 piece to 4" x 6", trim, adhere, and go!  I LOVED using this piece in this manner!  I DID also share this version on my latest video.

Measurements:

  • Basic Black: 4 1/4" x 11" (cut LENGTHWISE)
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Peaceful Place DSP: 6" x 6" panel, tree scraps

To Make This Card
  • Score Basic Black base at 3/8" - 1 7/8" - 3 5/8" - 5 1/8" - 5 1/2".  Fold card in half. Beginning at the outside cut edge, fold 3/8" score line up ("valley"), the next 2 crease as ("mountains"), and the last little bit fold up ("valley").  Or, look a pix above. Crease well.
  • Attach White layer to the inside of your card.
  • Place Tear Tape on the inside of the 1/4" by the fold.  Attach this area to the card, like a Book Binder card.
  • Take 6x6 panel, and trim across the top, just missing the tallest tree. Then, trim the bottom so the piece measures 4" tall.
  • Now, starting from the left side, cut this piece at 1/4" - 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" - 1 1/4" - 1/4". Set the extra piece aside. I can use it on the inside right of the card.
  • Beginning on the left side, adhere the pieces in order, ending with the right narrow strip.  Too neat, right!
  • Now, take another "panel" and fussy cut out the 2 "groups" of trees.
  • I attached the largest to the front, center panel with Dimensionals.
  • Then, on the inside, I attached the remaining piece of DSP. and used the extra fussy cut trees as the "support".  Attach Mini Dimensionals to the right side and adhere to the far right of the DSP.
  • Stamp sentiment in Basic Black. Use "snowflakes" from Peaceful Cabin to add some detail over the trees.

Whimsical Trees Bay Window

These Bay Window cards are so much fun!  Once I started creating, I just kept going!  I was inspired by a sample I saw somewhere, but this is my take on it.  Sadly, no stamping, but a lot of fun die cutting! This is the card I demonstrated on my video.

Measurements:

  • Mint Macaron: 4 1/4" x 11" (cut LENGTHWISE)
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Whimsy & Wonder DSP: 2 pcs @ 1 1/4" x 4" (trees), 1 pc @ 1 1/2" x 4" (mint-center), 2 pcs @ 1/4" x 4" (hologram stripe)

To Make This Card
  • Score Mint Macaron  base at 3/8" - 1 7/8" - 3 5/8" - 5 1/8" - 5 1/2".
  • Adhere narrow DSP strips first, then match up the 3 panels, as shown. Or, work your way across the card.
  • Cut a large and medium tree from the DSP.
  • Attach the large tree to the center "panel" with the right corner hanging over.
  • Cut an "open" tree from Silver Foil. Attach it to the card with Mini Dimensionals. With the left corner hanging over.
  • Cut 2 "stick trees" from Silver Foil.  Attach to inside of card.
  • For the card "support" attach medium die cut tree to inside of card with Mini Dimensionals along the right edge.
  • FInish with Rhinestones as "stars" on the tree.
