Framed Florets Poinsettia

The new Framed Florets Bundle is such a versatile bundle.  You can use it for Christmas, but also many other occasions, too.  Today, I am sharing a card that uses the gorgeous frame with the returning Merriest Moments Bundle!  So classy, and so simple!  I just LOVE it!

Measurements:

  • Shimmery White: 1/2 sheet, 1/4 sheet, 4" x 5" (oval), scraps (poinsettias)
  • Real Red & White Glimmer (N): scraps
  • Glimmer Specialty Paper (N): scraps - Evening Evergreen
To Make This Card:

  • Run 1/4 sheet of Shimmery White through Merriest Moments Embossing Folder.
  • Attach this piece to folded Shimmery White card.
  • Next, die cut the "fancy" oval also from Shimmery White. (Tone on Tone is gorgeous!)  Attach to card front over embossing.
  • Stamp sentiment in Real Red Ink onto Cut Oval and attach to card front inside oval opening.
  • Stamp one each of the Poinsettias in Real Red Ink onto scraps of Shimmery White.  Die cut flowers with corresponding dies.
  • Die cut smaller "poinsettia" from Red Glimmer paper.
  • Layer "poinsettias" together as shown.  Attach to card.
  • Also, cut "pine boughs" from Evening Evergreen Glimmer paper, using the detail Christmas Pinecone die. I only cut a portion of the die. (Note: I liked the lighter, softer look of the pine boughs in the returning die in the AC.)
  • Cut "pine boughs" from the "pinecones", creating separate "boughs".  Dip the bases in Multipurpose Glue and tuck behind "poinsettia".
  • Finish with retired "Holiday" Rhinestones. Pumpkin Pie for the center of the "poinsettia" and Red for added detail.

Traditional Merriest Moments

Even though this bundle "speaks" elegant, it can also be very "traditional".  For this sample, I used the Tidings of Christmas DSP in the Annual Catalog along  with the Merriest Frame in Evening Evergreen and a "sprig" of holly!

Measurements:

  • Evening Evergreen: 1/2 sheet, 1/4 sheet
  • Tidings of Christmas DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Basic White: 2 1/4" x 3", scraps, 4" x 5 1/4" (inside)
To Make This Card:

  • Attach the DSP to the folded Evening Evergreen card.
  • Emboss the Evening Evergreen quarter piece with just the Embossing Folder. Now, run it through, again, with the "detail" die. (This does NOT fit in the folder.)
  • Attach this piece to the card with Dimensionals. Now stamp a sentiment in lower right corner in Real Red ink. Attach to "frame"
  • Stamp 3 medium holly "leaves" in Evening Evergreen.  Stamp the "berries" in Real Red.  Cut out with corresponding dies.
  • Attach "leaves" as shown.  Add "berries" with Dimensional
  • Finish with scattered Red Rhinestones.  And, white piece inside for message.

Any Occasion Merriest Moments Frame

This was one of my earliest samples using the Merriest Moments Hybrid Bundle.  I wanted to try making an "Any Occasion" card using a foil frame and one of our pretty Specialty Papers. For this sample, I used the Simply Elegant DSP from the Annual Catalog with Gold Foil. I have not added a sentiment, because I will Gold Emboss the appropriate sentiment when I need it!  Don't you do this, too?  Have premade cards, awaiting the right occasion??

Measurements:

  • Very Vanilla: 1/2 sheet, 2 1/4" x 3" (insert)
  • Simply Elegant DSP: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Gold Foil: 1/4 sheet
To Make This Card:

  • Attach the DSP to the folded Very Vanilla card. (I have recently seen this cardstock colored with a Sponge Brayer and Ink!  I'll have to give this a try!)
  • Emboss the Gold Foil piece with just the Embossing Folder. Now, run it through, again, with the "detail" die. (This does NOT fit in the folder.)
  • Attach the foil to the card with Dimensionals.
  • Cut the Vanilla insert with the included Stitched Rectangle Die. (If you know what you want to stamp, or emboss, you can do that now, before you attach it to your foil.)
  • Finish with any bow or embellishments of your choice!  (I tried the Gold Ribbon, first, but this Cherry Cobbler and Gold is just stunning!)

Traditional Poinsettia and Merriest Moments Hybrid Frame

Good Morning, Stampers!  Sorry I missed you yesterday! I was up at the crack of dawn to drive back to Iowa from Southern Indiana, where I was visiting my daughter!  We had a marvelous visit, but I didn't have time to fire up my laptop, and my scheduler seems to get the best of me! So here goes!!  Enjoy!

I wanted to make a sample with the less detailed Merriest Moments Frame.  So, I created this more traditional (in color) card with Shaded Spruce and Real Red.  I have had so many Poinsettias over the years, and still have the nice one from last year, but I love the shape and size of the one in this bundle, and I also love the holly, too!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" (insert), 2 1/2" strip for stamping
  • Shaded Spruce: 1/4 sheet
To Make This Card:
  • Fold Basic White in half. Run front through new Merriest Frames 3D embossing folder centering image as best you can.
  • Emboss and CUT the Shaded Spruce piece.  This JUST fits, so carefully line it up on the quarter sheet of cardstock.  The "cloud" die fits INTO the embossing folder, so you can CUT & EMBOSS at the SAME TIME.  That's the Hybrid piece of this!!
  • Attach this piece to the front of card with Dimentionals.
  • Stamp sentiment in Real Red onto White piece. Cut out with included, Stitched Rectangle.  Attach to center of card.
  • Stamp the 2 "poinsettias" in Real Red as well as the "berries". Stamp a med & large "holly" in Shaded Spruce, also the "greenery" shown. Cut these out with corresponding dies.
  • Shape the "poinsettia" petals with Bone Folder and layer on top of each other with Mini Dimensional, Add to card in lower left corner.
  • Tuck and adhere "greenery".
  • Attach "holly" leaves and "berries" to upper right corner.
  • Finish with Amber Rhinestones in the center of the Poinsettia, and scattered Cabana Rhinestones in the "frame".  These both come from the Holiday Rhinestones.

Little Cherub in a Gorgeous Frame

As I was preparing my instructional video for the Merriest Moments Bundle, I was wanting to do an open frame sample. Mom and I came up with this gorgeous original featuring the Hybrid Embossing Folder and Die with the darling Cherub from the Angels of Peace stamp set.  I have also paired it with our soon-to-be-released Ever Eden Specialty DSP. It is just stunning.

Measurements:

  • Soft Succulent: 1/2 sheet
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
  • Brushed Metallics: 1/4 sheet
To Make This Card:

  • Attach Ever Eden DSP to Soft Succulent piece.  Cut stitched rectangle opening in the center. (This die is included in the bundle.)
  • Emboss the Metallic Foil with EF.  Die cut with "detail" die.  Then cut out center. Save this piece. This may flatten it more than expected so you can re-emboss the foil.
  • Now, attach this "frame" around opening with Dimensionals.
  • Place Very Vanilla piece inside.
  • Adhere Foil rectangle through center opening of card.
  • Stamp and emboss Little Cherub in Gold Embossing Powder.  Fussy cut her out.  Attach to Foil Rectangle.
  • Finish with gold embossed "sprigs" and sentiment at the bottom.  I added a Brushed Gold Dot to each sprig.
  • Emboss the Just Jade piece.  This JUST fits, so carefully line it up on the quarter sheet of cardstock.
  • Now, run this piece through the Cut & Emboss, again, this time using the detail die. (there is just minimal flattening.)
  • Attach this piece to the front of card with Dimentionals.
  • Add Very Vanilla to inside of card.
  • Place Brushed Gold rectangle through opening and adhere to inside of card.
  • Emboss Little Cherub in Gold Embossing Powder.  Fussy Cut out with paper snips. Attach to Gold rectangle.
  • Finish inside with Gold Embossed "boughs" and sentiment.  I also added Brushed Gold Dots to the "boughs".

Golden Bells in a Beautiful Frame + Video

Here is the card that I demoed on this weeks' video. It's a combination of a soon-to-be-released DSP - Ever Eden with a Merriest Moments Gold Foil frame and detailed Gingerbread Bell!  I like how it turned out!

Measurements:

  • Soft Succulent: 1/2 sheet
  • Very Vanilla: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Gold Foil: 4" x 6", scraps
To Make This Card:

  • Attach Ever Eden DSP to Soft Succulent piece.  Cut stitched rectangle opening in the center. (This die is included in the bundle.) Save this rectangle of DSP.
  • Emboss the Gold Foil with EF.  Die cut with "detail" die.  Then cut out center. This may flatten it more than expected so you can re-emboss the foil.
  • Now, attach this "frame" around opening with Dimensionals. (For this version I used Foam Adhesive Strips around the opening. For the other Dimensionals you might want to conside doubling them up.)
  • Place Very Vanilla piece inside.
  • Adhere DSP rectangle through center opening of card.
  • Cut 2 "detailed" bells from Gold Foil, as well as a border strip.  Attach bells to the rectangle piece, and border strip to the bottom.
  • Finish with a Brushed Gold Dot at the top of the "bells".
