Mystery Stamping - 2 Rectangles and a Focal Point #2

First, I must appologize for all the retired items I've been using lately.  I'm creating for the Senior Center and I mostly use retired items.  You might already even have these items in your stash! Sharon's purpose in her Monday Mystery Stamping is to use what you already have!! For these samples, I've used the retired Hues of Happiness DSP and retired Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.  However, I used a brand new color...Bubble Bath! I took all of the same items and just arranged them a little differently for each orientation.  The possibilities are endless!!  Once, again, my "focal point" is a "sentiment box", but I could have also used one of the die cut flowers!

Measurements:

  • Bubble Bath (N): 1/2 sheet, 1" x 2 3/4" (msg); 1 3/4" x 3", 2 1/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Basic White: 2 pcs @ 4" x 5 1/4", 3/4" x 2 1/2"
  • Hues of Happiness(ret): 1 1/2" x 2 3/4", 2" x 3 1/2", 1/2" x (5 1/4) or (4") strip
To Make This Card

  • Emboss one White layer and the 2 DSP pieces with desired Embossing Folder. I used the retired Pretty Flower Embossing Folder.
  • Attach the White piece to folded Bubble Bath card.
  • Attach each embossing DSP piece to its' corresponding layer.
  • Attach wider piece to the left side of card, as shown.  Attach the narrower piece to the card front with Dimensionals as shown, overlapping the layer in place.
  • Stamp sentiment in Basic Gray onto small White piece.  Attach to corresponding layer, then to card front with one Dimensional, as shown.
  • I experimented with the bling for these cards.  One uses the retired Noble Peacock Rhinestones, the other the Iridescent Rhinestones.

Hues of Happiness Flip, Flap Gate Fold Card #1

This was one of Sharon Armstrong's Mystery Cards, too.  I call it a Flip, Flap Gate Fold Card. I shared one earlier in Parakeet Party with a retired Encircled in Beauty Die doily.  These are a landscape orientation with just the "flaps".Love the possibilities with this paper! Not only is the paper gorgeous, but the flowers you can cut out to embellish are just awesome!  I cut out one sheet of each color group, and am still using the flowers!  Getting low on a few colors, so might need to get to work cutting a few more! Again, so many possibilities with little DSP!!

Measurements:

  • Night of Navy: 1/2 sheet cut LENGTHWISE, 2 pcs @ 1 3/4" x 5"
  • Hues of Happiness (N) 2 pcs @ 2 1/2" x 4" (painted),  2 pcs @ 1 1/2" x 4 3/4" (floral)
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4", scrap
To Make This Card:
  • Score Night of Navy base at 2 3/4" from each end.  Crease well.
  • Attach "painted" DSP to each side of "gate".
  • Attach "floral" DSP  to Navy cardstock "flaps/strips".  Attach TOP "flap/strip" to LEFT "gate" and BOTTOM "flap/strip" to RIGHT "gate".
  • Place White piece on the inside of card.  Stamp sentiment in Navy.  I also added a floral die cut.
  • To finish the front, stamp sentiment in Navy onto scrap of white and custom cut with die from the Sending Smiles dies.  Attach to card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Diagonal Cuts Mystery Card

Lately, I have been "joining" demonstrator Sharon Armstrong for her Monday Mystery Stamping. This is the one from last Monday, May 9. The layouts for this one are endless!! Each paper and layout makes for a different looking card!  This one uses the gorgeous, new Hues of Happiness DSP!

Measurements:

  • Basic White: 1/2 sheet, 3 3/4" x 5"
  • Pool Party: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Pool Party DSP: 2 pcs @ 1 5/8" x 2 1/4"
  • Hues of Happiness DSP (N): 2 pcs @ 1 5/8" x 2 1/4", die cut flower from DSP
To Make This Card:
  • Attach Pool Party layer to folded White card.
  • Cut one of each pattern diagonally one direction, then take the other 2 and cut diagonally the other.  (Cutting these in different directions will create different layouts/patterns, so experiment and have fun with them!)
  • Try your "pattern" on the remaining White piece.
  • Then, begin in one corner, and lay out the outside, corner pieces, leaving a generous 1/8" border.
  • Then, move to the center and lay out the other DSP.  Tada, the pattern is done!
  • Lastly, add a center focal point, in this case a coordinating die cut flower, or sentiment.  The nice thing about this card is all the possible layouts, and orientations. (Try turning it landscape!)
