Mystery Stamping - 2 Rectangles and a Focal Point

I love to check in to TX Sharon's Monday Mystery Stamping.  She had an awesome layout last Monday that *I* call 2 Rectangles and a Focal Point! (She never calls them anything in particular!) I am loving this layout!  It uses up those scraps you don't know what to do with and embossing folders that you may not have used in a while!  I made this one as my "masculine" card for my Senior Center classes next week.  I saw something similar on Sharon's website. I just love how it turned out. So, check out the scraps laying on your work table that you could use!  Stay tuned...I'm not done creating, yet!

I will be sad to see the SAB DSP Rings of Love go in just a few short days.  Along with the coordination with the Ringed with Nature Bundle, there are some beautiful papers with blues and greens! This is another card that we will be doing with the Assisted Living stampers. It uses the darling blue & green house paper. We also cut out one of the houses from the paper to mount on a stitched circle.

Stamped Cottage Ringed With Nature Hybrid

I saw this card that used a stamped image on the Ringed With Nature wood slices and loved it! This is one of our neat Hybrid embossing folders that can be used in so many ways, but is designed to emboss AND cut an image with one passing. It is also paired with our SAB DSP Ringed with Love, that is a free selection with a $50 order! So many possibilities, and great for masculine cards for ANY occasions.

Measurements:

  • Soft Suede: 1/2 sheet, 1/4 sheet (for Wood Ring Bases)
  • Rings of Love DSP SAB (N): 4" x 5 1/4", 1/2" x 5 1/4" strip
  • Crumb Cake: 1/4 sheet (for Wood Ring insides), scrap
  • Evening Evergreen: 1/8 sheet
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
To Make This Card:
  • Attach DSP to folded Soft Suede card.
  • Attach White piece to inside and DSP strip as shown.
  • Cut 4 "sprigs" from Evening Evergreen.  Set aside.
  • Place "rings" die onto "right side" of Embossing Folder.  Add Soft Suede piece, close folder and cut and emboss all the "outside" rings.  Note: it is just easiest to cut all 5 rings, and decide what you want to use for this project and save the others for later.
  • Select which 2 rings you would like to use for your card.
  • Stamp "house" in Soft Succulent and "roof" in Calypso Coral onto scrap of Crumb Cake. Cut out with the largest "inside" that you have chosen. Place this into the Embossing Folder and emboss.
  • Next, select the smaller inside that you would like to use, and cut that with the coordinating die.  Place into the Embossing Folder and emboss. Note: this is NOT the way that you will usually do this.  Normally, you cut and emboss all the inner rings at one time, too.
  • If desired, cut "slits" into the smaller inner ring.
  • Now, assemble the "rings" together.
  • Center the largest "ring/slice" adhere the center of this piece, leaving room to tuck in the "sprigs".
  • Tuck the smaller "ring/slice" underneath and adhere to card.
  • Next, slip in the "sprigs" as desired.
  • Stamp sentiment in Soft Suede and cut out with die from the Beautiful Shapes.  Attach to card with Dimensionals.
  • Finish with Brushed Metallic Dots.

Rings of Love Birds

So, I FINALLY spent a little time with my Mom stamping.  We only made 2 cards, but it is a start!  Covid this time really has me down.  Mostly a nagging cough and general lethargy. We needed to create cards for my class Monday at Garner.  I just love those gals!  So, we created this card using the Free SAB DSP - Rings of Love! This DOES coordinate with the Ringed with Nature Blundle in the mini catalog, but it also stands alone! It's really beautiful.  We thought this would also make a nice masculine card!

Measurements:

  • Night of Navy: 1/2 sheet, 2 5/8" x 4"
  • Soft Suede: 2 5/8" x 4"
  • Basic White: 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Rings of Love DSP (SAB): 4" x 5 1/4", 2" x 3 3/8", 1/2" strip (birds)
To Make This Card:

  • Fold Night of Navy card in half.
  • Trim 1 1/2" from quarter piece of DSP. Attach the blue side of this piece to the front of card with 1/8" showing. Flip over the remaining piece, butt up the edges together and adhere to card front with Bird-side up.
  • Next, cut out 2nd smallest scallop rectangle from the Soft Suede piece.  Mount onto Navy layer and add remaining "bird" piece on top.  Attach to card front with Dimensionals.
  • Add White piece to the inside and decorate with 1/2" strip of DSP.
  • FInish outside with a knot of So Saffron ribbon (ret).
