I hadn't done this simply elegant technique in ages! It's called Whitewash, and you use it on dark colored cardstock to highlight your stamped images. The main supplies are White Craft Ink and a Blender PEN!! I had seen this done with our current SAB Host set - Calming Camellia - and it is just gorgeous. I need to go look for other, continuing stamps, to try this technique on!!
Other Whitewash Technique Samples
Measurements:
- Soft Succulent: 4" x 5 1/4", 2 5/8" square
- Thick Basic White: 1/2 sheet
- Basic White: 2 3/4" square
- Evening Evergreen: 3" square
To Make This Card
- Randomly stamp large "camellia" in Evening Evergreen ink onto Soft Succulent piece.
- Wrap ribbon around center of card and tie in a knot. Attach to folded Thick White card.
- Stamp "camellia" in Evening Evergreen onto square of Soft Succulent.
- Now, take Clear Block, "C" and squish it into the White Craft pad, or place a little refill ink onto the block and squish it around my smooshing into the White Craft pad.
- Next, take a Blender Pen, pick up some of the Craft ink and "paint" any of your image that you would like highlighted white. It's amazing how the detail of the stamp still comes through the ink. It's just stunning!
- Cut around the flower with smooth circle die. Mount onto tight, White scalloped circle and larger, Evening Evergreen scalloped circle.
- Adhere this piece to your card, over ribbon with dimensionals. And, you are done!
